Well I know what the little fella and I are doing tomorrow.
Such a great loop to get the little kids into riding dirt! I'll be there for sure this weekend!!
Its been a long time in the making and looks to be worth it.
Well done Warringah!
Rated double green XC right?
... unlikely to see any pesky illegal "b" lines being developed, unless it's to utilise a technical feature that hasn't been incorporated into the track
I had a quick ride around the Lagoon this morning & its already popular - lots of people checking it out.
The two new bridges are plenty wide, probably over-engineered, with really long ramps ups & down each side. Its quite easy to pick up speed coming down & I can see this becoming an issue for walkers - so no Strava runs!
It seems like there's still some work left to do, since there's some temporary fencing left around the Academy Boatsheds section, which is a little awkward.
Didn't @hawkeye get a dropper seat post for the technical parts of the loop?
Bloody ankle!
Apart from a dropper post, tyre pressures are critical on this track. Make sure you set them to between ~15-65 psi give or take.
If you think Gahnia is a little too much for you, then maybe think about a skills course before......
Surprisingly this is designated as a two way track. It was really challenging to keep an eye out for the lycra brigade, doing the Collaroy two step while smashing out an early strava KOF, and avoiding the off camber straights.
If you get wide on the bridges it's a bit wet too. They should have used some of the budget for drainage improvements.
It really was awesome to see more than ten dads and mums out with their kids for a lap this afternoon. Miss 6 and I have a new Friday afternoon appointment.
