Dirtworks Round Up
Congratulations all on another fantastic Dirtworks run. Hurrah for having a category winner in our midst - well done that Kiwi!
And the results list continues to grow below are our efforts. I've taken the liberty of correcting my own time to leap ahead of AlchemiSSt - sorry ;)
Apologies in advance if I've missed anyone off, PM me and you shall be added!

I stopped my watch at the helicopter rescue then resumed stopwatch when we took off.
I came in at 2:39min which in my case was 10 mins under my official time.
Did all the 50km riders get caught at that point? Could somebody who was in the 50 and didn't have to wait come forward?
I also heard people with bike computers quoting their "riding time" but neglected to add back on the drink stop the gu stop the wee stop or flat tire etc etc, so a bit of honesty would be required if we went down the time correction path.
Congratulation to Kiwi Girl on her stunning result. Imagine her time if she wasn't dragging an anchor? (Only joking Mark)
Greg
I believe it was first Paul, then Buck, then me then Greg and Andy
I was there for about 15 min. Paul was there the longest.
I had a 2:39 ride time as well, so same as you Greg!
Can you adjust for us Rob?
Loz
Greg, I only take off 8 minutes 51 second as this was the stop time the from the helicopter.

Not all 50km riders had to stop for the rescue. I'm not sure at which point in the official race time the organisers/medics stopped the race but I'm sure I heard some NoBMoBbers talking about being one of the first riders to be stopped...
I'm dead set certain that i did a 2.38. I seem to remember babbling to Kath when i had finished and making sure that this was the actual time. You can add a broken chain and a 4 way cramp and a few minutes at the drink station as well.
Lorrie
Seems too hard to adjust everyone's time. I believe only Junkie and Lorrie made it through without stopping.
Paul was on the front row that got stopped and I was a few behind. Then Loz turned up and he pushed his way up to me to have a chat. That's all I saw.
Riding time on my computer was 2hr 36min. I didn't stop at the drink station but I did stop once to stretch out cramps for about 3min. I also stopped once to have a play with my rear deraileur that didn't seem to want to engage the top few gears. Another minute there. I'd guesstimate that my "real" time would have been somewhere around the 2hr 40min mark.
No adjustments please.
These are official race times, positions are on gun time, not adjusted time.
We all know we went faster than the times on the results. I have a ride time of 3.07 and yes that includes pushing up the hills.
FWIW I didn't get stopped, well not for helicopters atleast, my adjusted time on the results though is 10 mins less than my gun time.
For the sake of these results it shall remain Gun times. (says he that put the tables together)
Do not forget about me:
Overall:130
Race No. 1261
Time: 2:35:30
Cheers,
Leo.
At least we all know your name!
also is Brian missing from this list as well?
And Stu.. if there is no adjustments.... Rob should revert his timings!!!
He started it all *points finger*
Loz
i dont think it really matters if the timing is slightly out, I know that i was 10mins faster than my official time, my GPS says so. If people ask me what time i got i give my GPS time as i know it is more accurate.
We all know our own times and 10mins especially for the 100km riders doesnt mean much, but maybe for a 50km rider 10mins could mean alot more.
The 50Km riders, fair enough. We all know you could have gone faster (could you - maybe that rest saved you? ).
But there were numerous problems with the 100Km timing - I suspect a few tags were missed on the start line and we were officially given the later start.
I unclipped and kept my leg low.. but I saw most people just rode over it clipped in with no dramas. Was a bit over that beeping though having sat at the finish line as people finished.
I found I cooled off too much in the wait.. and it was hard to get going again... also not good when we were released... and I was off my bike in front of it looking up the hill as they all started rolling down at me!
Loz
I timed the race on my stopwatch (my bike computer isn't the most reliable) and stopped it as soon as I realised they were holding up the race and restarted it when the go ahead was given - my stopwatch ride time was 2:31.05 my official time was 2:47.35 so the delay was approximately 16min 30secs.
The plus is that in the stoppage time I downed a GU, took a comfort break and rested. The negative is losing 16min and having 60 riders who had been minutes behind me pass me while I refilled with water.
Ok so the riders in groups 1, 2 and 4 weren't disadvantaged while riders in Group 3 were -shit happens.
Like Don (Leximark) I'm taking my stopwatch time as my ride time, but that's just for me and working out my own PB’s and benchmarks - everywhere else I’m happy for the official time to be published.
Something to check – my friend Andy and Andrew started together with Andrew coming home ahead of Andy. However the official timing had Andrew 30 minutes slower with a race time of 3.10:27 to Andy 2.41:07.
Andrew has been given the starting time of the 1st group - probably because his chip didn’t register. Anyone with missing 10 minute blocks may want to check out if they were given the correct starting times.
