Hi,
I am planning to take my wife on our first mountain bike ride in blue mountain. Is there any beginners trail with good scenic view that I can take her.

thank You

Blue Mts near Sydney?

I have no idea of the fitness or bike experience level of you or your wife but The Oaks is a popular choice for beginners and more experienced.

Train shuttle. ie park at Glenbrook and catch train up to Woodford then ride back.

It is 25kms and there are some pinchy little climbs near the start but over all it drops 600m so if you take your time and enjoy the scenery it's good. Second half is more down and the last bit is on nice single trail.

There is a steep pinch at the end from the bottom causeway up to the NP gate and hence back to the car but again take your time and enjoy the surrounds.

Make sure you are self sufficient, so plenty of food and water for the day and have spare tubes and tools.

Also if it's been raining check in with NPs and ask about the water level at the causeway as you don't want to get to the end and find it's impassable and have to back track.

Narrowneck at Katoomba is another popular choice. Its out and back along fire but views are awesome

The you have Hanging rock at Blackheath
Again out and back along fire trail, one of the best views inthe mountain at the end over looking the grose valley with views down to Sydeny through a gap in the peaks

Faulconbridge point is a fairly easy one with a nice lookout at the end. It's only 6-7km from the gate to the lookout.

For a beginner as its a fairly easy ride out to a great lookout. Alternatively u could head into Glenbrook national park and ride out to Nepean lookout and enjoy some of the single track on the way back.

Faulconbridge Point was first to mind also.

Easy ride with an amazing view at the end.

If you want to go even more beginnerish, try Baltzer lookout near Blackheath. Its much shorted (3.5-4km from the gate). But the views are much better! Smiling

other than that, Faulcs is a great beginner track
