Hi there,

I ordered the wrong tubes yesterday and they have already been shipped so don't really want to pay postage to send them back and then have the correct size sent to me.

The item is exactly as listed here: http://torpedo7.com.au/products/INTUBNNMT

If I could get $25 for them that would be great.

Pickup Sydney CBD would be ideal otherwise we can talk about posting.

Thanks.

Which of the sizes listed there do you have?

Not that I need them - UST rocks! Laughing out loud

They'd be OK for the Crosser wouldn't they, or does they run some weird derivative of a 700c tyre?

Ahem. Eye-wink

Yeah - the crosser needs 32x700c with 40mm valves. No good for that.

19 x 700c will work fine. 26" tubes can also be used but they are a bit of a pain to get in (1" x 26" is probably pushing your luck)

T7 have an excellent returns policy. Stuff gets shipped up to Qld rather than Unzud. I think you will find them more than willing to exchenge the tubes for the correct one, as they are all the same price and it is an easy package to send. I don't think this will cost you any more. Just look up the return docs written on your shipping order.

Yep as mentioned the size is in the title Eye-wink

Torpedo 7 will happily exchange them I just figured if I could off load them it would save me paying postage back.

If you are a weight weenie you can run the skinny tubes in regular tyres. The tubes just expand to fill the tyre. I carry a skinny tube as a spare, except in wilderness rides, where I carry a downhill tube as a spare.

I'm usually doing trails can I really use these tubes? I would usually use 26 x 2.10/2.40 wont the skinny ones burst easier if they have to expand to fill the tire.

Not sure. I think these Innova tubes (which I also use BTW) are pretty average in quality. I have never seen a 1.0 tube before, so would be curious to know if the wall of the tube is thinner than the 2.0 - 2.4. If not, then I don't think there will be much difference.

That said, the more you have to pump up a 1.0 tube to fit your tyre, the harder it is, and there would likely be a change to the handling characteristics of the tyre with the ground compared to a 2.0. If it was me, I would send 'em back.

I'd imagine the rubber thickness of the tube will be pretty much the same as on a larger type tube. Therefore to fill up a 2.2 (say) size tire there will be a tube with an expected circumference of 3.141 filling a circumference of 6.912, so at each spot on that circumference there will be 1/2.2 as much rubber (less than half) between the air on the inside of the tube and the outside of the tube, and lots more tension in that rubber (though I can't calculate that as I'm not sure of the relationship between circumference and elastic tension, though I suspect linear(ish)).

What that means for puncture resistance I have no idea, but it'll be a fair bit less. Maybe you could give them a go and report back after working your way through them all?

I've had a few of the Innova tubes and they seem OK to me, I even ran some at just over 20psi for the trials stuff a couple of weeks back and no problems, but that could be just luck...

Ta,
Matt.

Feel free to flame away if the above is nonsense Eye-wink
