Jet 9 RDO Finally finished!

Finally got the XT M8000 1x11 yesterday and fitted it last night.

I've not taken it on the dirt with this setup but a few laps up and down the street last night has it shifting really crisply and needing hardly any pressure on the shifter to move up and down the gears.

Spec is as follows:-

Fork: SID RCT3 120
Wheels: Stans Arch Ex rims. D240 hubs. DT Comp spokes.
Post: Truvativ Noir carbon
Saddle: Selle Italia SLR x-cross flow
Bar: Easton Haven carbon
Rotors: XT Icetech
Brakes: XT M8000
Groupset: XT M8000
Tyres: Front, Ardent Race. Rear, Ikon.
Weight: 10.3kg approx. Weighed on cheapo luggage scales.

I've had the lucky chance of a quick ride on this at Ourimbah before the 1x11 was installed... It was bloody brilliant then... and I'm not a fan of clown sized bikes Eye-wink

Very nice! 10.3 is silly light if that's accurate.

One of my riding buddies from Sydney MTB has a Niner RDO that is sub 11kg with a dropper post. Noticeably lighter than my Scalpel (albeit with the training wheelset on).

Get some Light Bicycles 27mm carbon rims, lightweight rotors and XTR cassette for a race wheelset and you could go sub-10kg I reckon.

Don't think the wallet can stretch to a spare wheelset at the moment. It's a lot of money to save a few hundred grams.

I'm really happy with it and just want to ride it as much as possible. Hope this predicted storm holds off so I can get a ride in tomorrow morning.

How big was the dent to the wallet?

I got it from 99 Bikes in Artarman. They did it all inc. cranks for a little over $600.
Only thing not in stock is the 32t chainring so you'll either have to go for a different brand or get a 34t, which is what I did.
