I gave it everything!
Hi all,
I had a half day at work, so decided to hit up Manly Dam to see if I could post a time over a single lap.
Starting at Manly Vale Public, I took a slow warm-up lap in about 36, then put the hammer down and went for it.
My heart-rate immediately jumped to 177 and I think I may have gone out a little too hard. A few walkers and a dropped chain right before the moon-rock didn't help, but I would've lost a max of 15 or so seconds. I hit a PB for the descent before the creek and pushed as hard as I could along the fire trail. By the time I got to King St I was pretty wiped out and struggled through the last few hundred metres.
After a 37 min recovery lap, I decided to have another crack to see how close I could get to my first time and still managed a 28.30.
The training is coming along well and I'm thinking of having a crack at the half fling in November, to give me something to aim for. Then I think I need a road bike!
