Preferred rider numbers

We've had a few requests for this, so by popular demand... (drum roll)... a "Maximum number of preferred riders" field on ride meetings.

As that box says, "Sometimes the more the merrier. Sometimes not. Use this field to indicate what sort of a group size works here or leave blank for no limit."

Somewhat of a victim of our own popularity, sometimes too many riders show up and this makes what might be a speedy spin take a bit longer. Sometimes though people just don't care (see the regular-ish Terrey Hills night rides) and numbers aren't important.

Of course this means users have to respect each other and not come along when this will mean too many riders. You must make use of the 'You in?' field or none of this will work out as planned.

Enjoy! Smiling

Great addition mate...

So when is the post ride analysis tool going to calculate lactate threshold and optimum cadence for each ride?

I think this is a welcome addition as often posting up a second ride on a particular day almost seems rude, but with smaller numbers it will encourage having a choice of rides to do and people can choose one close to them, or one at their skill level or pace.

Good points Mr Groover, hope that's how it's taken.

We can add a skill level if you like, 'Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced', if that helps? Just don't want to confuse the meeting entry page more than necessary, it's getting a bit crowded as it is. People generally say if it's going to be fast/slow, techie or not in the wording anyhow.

that but more like if there's a downhill session and a XC ride I know where I'll be heading, and if there's a 20km ride and one that does the six foot track and Ando's in one day you'll find me at the six foot track (any takers?) so people can choose the ride that suits them.

Using the field to say that we can have one or two groups on the ride? I know if Junkie, Cupcake, Steve et al are up for a quick ride i don't have much hope of riding with them.

I think having the maximum number of riders will force to have mutliple groups which is good.
