so it looks like it will be closed for the whole weekend ? I imagine it will take a week to drain all this water.
After a heavy dousing , the Dam can take (at least) 5 days to drain properly. Some ppl ignore that and ride it anyway, but there will be 3 main spots that will have large puddles.
With the amount of rain we have had recently, and the forecast doesn't look much better for this week, the Dam would be well and truly waterlogged. It will be a while before the Dam will be 'ready' to ride...
Of course there will be those who feel that a little mud on their bikes is fine or that their skills are competent enough for wet weather riding, but they would be missing the point. In the end, it's the Dam that suffers.
Apologies for the rant, but it really annoys me when I'm 'scumming' past the Wakehurst Parkway entrance to see ppl entering/exiting the Dam when it has been raining or is raining at the time. Don't get me started about those who choose to ignore the "Closed" sign altogether and have to brush pass it to enter the Dam...
Just looking for confirmation that the dam is still shut? (and to remind everyone else too)
If TH is wet then the dam must be very very wet.

AFAIK the dam is still officially closed. No 'open' mail from the rangers as yet. :'(
It took 5 minutes of hosing, a quarter can of degreaser, and another 5 minute hosing to clean my bike after a 1.5 hour ride at West Head yesterday.
When West Head is damp, Manly Dam is just one big puddle.
and done on the grass?
