Most of the bikeshops I have tried have had them in stock at a cost of $35-$40, though I had one shop quote me $80. As for aftermarket you can only get replacements for the bottom pulley.
thanks mate no worries i ended up getting one installed for me (due to my previos home mechanics issues!) at tbsm for 40 beans, seems you can only get a pair (of course) ..wow 80? you can get a whole new x-7 derailleur for 80 if you shop around lol..these were sold at crc etc for 20 lbs ish so that seems like a fair price..bloody bikes!
I've got things like this in stock at all times so PM me in the future if you need anything...
Ahhh... another reason for the 'parts bin' site section.
A place where we all list the various goodies we have lying around. You need something in a hurry you can borrow it so long as it's replaced ASAP. ASAP == bought at potential great expense immediately if the original owner needs it back, but that's what you'd have paid anyhow, so there's no downside, only up.
FWIW, X.9 pully wheels are $18 from Jenson, X.0 are $29.
If you can wait for the mail order thing these might interest you. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/KCNC-Jockey-Wheel-for-Rea...
They also do ceramic bearing ones but there considerably more coin.
Good luck
EDIT: Sorry Alex I just realised they aren't compatible with the X9 or X7 derailleurs and I can't delete the post.
Anyone else interested?
no worries ta, no i got them installed by tbsm and got a fork service and fixed more drivetrain damage after my previous stack, while i was at it, worked out quite reasonble so im happy
..... why do jockey wheels need to have cogs?
If they were a flat nylon wheel then they would last years???
Just a thought!

(why does cold red wine taste better than at room temp?)
they get clogged with a bit of mud or grit, jam up and cause the chain to make a big flat spot in them.
the chain would slide across your nice flat nylon wheel and rub the side of the cage arms. The gears wouldn't shift as well and you'd end up replacing the more expensive cage instead of a relatively cheap cogged wheel.
The real question Greg is did you buy anything tonight after that red one? I want to know if there'll be some bargains posted on the site in a couple of weeks
....thankyou for your input.
what if the derailier arms had nylon sides to assist with leading the chain onto the next cog?
And for your infomation I still have a brand new 8 speed cassette that I did purchase online after one red to many, 8's and 9's look so similar when you are squinting at the screen with one eye closed.
