Forks need a service
Alright boys and girls with far greater knowledge than I,
I need to get my forks serviced (reba race 29er) but i want to make sure they are in good hands and that they understand fork setup as well. Sowhere would i find such a workshop? what sort of cost should i be expecting?
Is DIY an option or should i just take it to a bike shop that knows what they are doing?
Cheers

i just picked up my bike forks serviced from the bike shed mortdale, and they did a top job, not sure on your 29er, but as ive got a slightly less common than most manitou sherman breakout plus, the dude called me to talk about setup as he spoke to a main manitou guy who discussed the problem i was having with him, and offered lots of advice, and then serviced them (oil change, new seals etc.) for 70 odd bucks, and they feel great...i just like the fact they did it all in shop and only took 2 days when they were busy and i brought it in without booking, and they researched and took care.. my reccomendation anyway..as i said no idea about the 29 factor though..
There are manuals for servicing RockShox forks on their website. I recently serviced my Tora forks and extended the travel, they may be a bit easier than Rebas as they are not dual air. All of the recommended tools are a must and you can get the seal kits and oil from beyond bikes.
It was a little tricky and I needed to do it twice as the first time I did not put enough oil in the damper so the lock out stopped working. They work like new and I will continue to service them myself from now on.
Bike Addiction on the northern beaches serviced my forks before and did a good job. I am guessing they would take 1/2 to 1 hour @ $70 per hour plus a seal kit if required.
Hope that helps,
Nigel
