Sydney to Gong - MS Charity Ride - Nov 2nd 2008

I am looking at riding the Sydney to Gong this year (full info here: http://www.msaustralia.org.au/gongride/index.asp).

For those that don't know its a charity ride to raise money for MS Australia, a worthy cause. There are two options for the ride, either do the full length 90km course, or start closer to the Gong (Heathcote) for a 56km run along the coast (probably what i'm looking at). Its not a race and can't really be taken too seriously and although it might be on a road (shock horror!) you can pretty much ride it on anything, given the right setup (tyres mostly). Lycra is optional, even for Liam...

Anyway I was just curious who else was looking at doing this ride this year. I will probably be involved with a team from my work, but i was just wondering if anyone was organising a Team NomNob, and if not why not?! Sticking out tongue

Cheers,
*

I may do this. Dust off the hardtail in the garage.

Oh, okay i didn't realised its already been posted. I was surprised when nothing came up with the couple of searches i did, apart from a thread from a year ago.

So can others view that thread Buck posed above?? It seems i am "not authorized to access this page", nor can i see anything on the calender in Nov apart from the Highland Fling. Hmm.

Anyway, yeah a good excuse to bring the HT back from the dead, though i think it might be a bit far for my HT which is a bit too 'street'. Dually with street tyres for me. Smiling

I do this each year and I'll be doing it this year, same as last year, on my 2005 Trek Fuel 70 which to the uninitiated is a short travel full suspension xc bike and is my road bike. It's the bike I commute on. Why ride this bike on road? I'm lazy and like the comfort of suspension.
I clicked the star on the ride posting and will do the complete ride from St. Peters, in which case I'll ride from my home in Coogee to the start.

Doing the Gong ride with a team from work ( Team BVN). Trying to beat our sponsorship total from last year of $28,000. ( I've have a very good friend recently diagnosed with MS) Doing it on my only bike... dually with lockout and 700c road wheels. Will lookout for nob jerseys on the way
