Six foot track epic in the name of fun
Organisation has emerged from yesterdays discussion regarding a visit to the 6ft track.
Here is a ride to make legs hurt and guts vanish - All Welcome!
Date: Sunday 30th July
Time: If catching a train, meet at Blackheath at 8:05am (the 5:48 from Central station).
If driving, 9 o'clock at Old Ford Reserve. Located at the bottom of Megalong Road near (south of) the corner with Nellies Glen Road, It's at the bottom of the valley, a bit before packsaddlers. For Garmin nerds NPWS has provided this Lat/Long: 33.7315,150.2350
The Plan: From Megalong Valley to Jenolan and back (just under 40km each way). If there's a group of us then we may have to aim for a Mini Mini turnaround (around 20km each way) so we return before dark.
Bring: lots of water, something warm in case of weather change, a full days worth of food.
Skill level: you will need to be fit for the distance and the hills.
Thanks in advance to Tour Guide Barbie-Liam!

I find this on the trusty trail network:

This madman ran the thing, but you get the idea. Celia's proposed meeting point for drivers is down in the valley (well, down from Blackheath) so they'd (drivers) miss around 400m vertical drop (and climb back up - which is on the road).
Following the MB event above the driver's meeting point to Jenolan is about 37Km?
I have a mate in town around that time, but will try and make this ride if possible. I have a racks for 5 bikes so at a push could drive this many. PM me if you want a lift, even if you're going on the train and that would be back up to Blackheath - you slacker!
Liz and I are back from our gallivanting around and this sounds great!
It's terrible form to not show when someone arranges this stuff, but sorry Celia - I'm out this weekend. My mate from overseas is disorganised as all... well... a disorganised thing and actually isn't leaving 'til Sunday arvo.
Doh!
Have a good one though, and sorry again.
The 6ft track ride is still on.
Looks like we have a good sized group so we will split into fast (80kms) and slow (40kms) groups. Been sick all week so I'm going in the slow group (like I was going to be able to keep up with the fast ones when I was healthy).
SO I'm geared up for a bunch of nice views and plenty of sniff of flowers
Celia
I've talked Liz into it - we will be keeping Celia company
Any feed back on what this "epic" ride was like, 6ft track that is, not the mud bath we enjoyed.
Seems there was quiet a gang. There's a write up here:

Can we entice Celia to give her version?
