What a great weekend thanks to Gavin and Vanina you guys are top teammates.

My preparation was not as consistent as it should of been and coming down with a fever and cold earlier in the week which hadn’t really cleared up by Saturday was going to make this a hard weekend and it was.

We had a very exciting race trading places between third and second and even down to fourth at one stage after a double flat in the middle of the night.

Overall we where nice and consistent with our lap times and had a good strategy with single laps and a double lap each later in the night which would of worked out well if everything had gone to plan but we where able to adjust and continue on anyway.
Gavin was a legend putting in an extra night lap after a mix up with my transition timing he probably put us back in the race for second with three top lap times. Vanina put in an awesome effort with some top lap times and even battled on with fork problems that meant she only had about an inch of travel or less towards the end of the race. I started with a cold and ended the race with a flu not to clever but I wasn’t going to miss out on 24hrs of mountain bike racing around such a great course.

No flats or mechanicals for me and 29er was awesome for this race it rolled over those nasty rocks on the blue lap and the 32 x 19 SS ratio climbed the red lap with ease it flew down the downhills and carved up the corners like it was on rails.

Definitely the hardest race I have done to date.

Can’t wait to try for one better next year.
