Attempted Murder?

You're kidding me!

A CARLOAD of hoons deliberately rammed a group of cyclists on the way to the start of yesterday's Around The Bay In A Day ride in Victoria - Australia's largest cycling event.

Ten riders were left cut and bruised on the road as the car sped from the scene.

...

"They yelled out, 'W-----s'. They said, 'Bloody bike riders, we're going to kill you bastards'," he said.

The hooligans drove ahead before approaching from the opposite direction five or 10 minutes later and veering into the path of the riders.

What is wrong with people? One more bike on the road is one less car. To all the moronic drivers out there who think riders slow them down - think how much slower you'd be going if all the riders you see were sat in a car in the traffic jam in front of you.

Disgusted!

Don't even try to rationalise the actions of these Neanderthals Rob. Same thing happened recently with that group of early morning roadies training, the car driver slamming his brakes on in front of them. There is still a long way to go in terms of public acceptance of cyclists over here, I think more so than other countries I have been to. The good news is that public awareness does appear to be improving and the local governments are spending money in that direction. However I'm still scared to ride my bicycle on the road in Sydney, and I'm no chicken, I ride a motorbike in heavy traffic everyday.

I've not ridden in VIC so I can't say if it's any different for cyclists down there but I hope they get those b45t4rd5

Melbourne has better a better cycling infrastructure and publicity than Sydney...
