Morgan Road Firetrail

Looking though the ride trails I've noticed that deep creek is a "please do not ride trail", I was wondering if the morgan road fire trail gets you back to narrabeen lake if you wanted to start at the sports academy and link red hill with oxford falls.

If you ride to the Eastern end of Morgan Road fire trail you come to 'Gutterball'. This isn't on our map - I should fix that - but it's also outside the National Park boundary so feel free to ride (or most likely walk a lot - it's crazy steep) to the bottom then turn right to get to the Wakehurst Parkway and then on to Red Hill.

I walked down Gutterball on Saturday .
I came to the conclusion that if the National Parks are going to close sensible trails they should at least provide crampons for the alternate route.Evil

Gutterball is awesome! It ain't all about long travel either - one word people, modulation...

So Jedi, are you telling me that you ride all of it.
I am seriously impressed if you do.
That first rock ledge into the couloir is kind of crazy.
But I am a XC rider.

numerous times. In fact all our crew ride it. No where near as tricky as Burnies for example.

I am impressed.Jawdropping!

leading into the chute require a bit of courage the first time, but they are doable. I've seen a guy do them on an old short travel xc bike with vee brakes.

The rest is ok, you don't need to clear it cleanly, a few dabs is always better than walking!

I watched one of our mates ride the rock shute next to the cliff at the end of Out and Back (when it was legal). Now that was impressive!!! And completely stupid!!

I haven't ridden around Aus much but what was the point of closing the "banned trails" they look like a good trip in google earth. I get there on "crown" land but all the trails in and around Canada are as well. Plus I hate out and back loops are so much nicer.

Might have to change the route guterball sounds like one of those trails that would set back my shoulder recovery (dislocated). In which case what would be a nice group of "rolling" trails to loop together?

Crazy Canuck, I sent you a PM.
