SMH: Bike accidents open door to paths

The Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore, said the cycle routes had been worked out in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Climate Change and the Roads and Traffic Authority.

Wonder if they thought to ask someone who might actually know about riding bikes? Or is that a bit harsh?

The network would include North Sydney's proposed elevated cycle path from Falcon Street to the Harbour Bridge

Thats perfect for me, although, it really doesn't take me long to buzz down Pac Hwy to the start of the bridge...

Also means I'd lose that training hills back home.. hmmm

But yeah.. I've totally had my share of DOOR moments! geez! Had a colleague tell me the next day at work he saw me riding and then a door open fully wide in front of me over the bike lane and all I could do was swerve to avoid it... I'm lucky he wasn't any further forward or else he could've run me down!

Bike awareness is a good thing I reckon! Bring it!
