MOGO - Anyone know a MTB Club in the Area??
I will be spending a week over Christmas in Narooma, not far from the Mogo forrests. Does anyone know of an MTB club that rides in the area that I can contact to hook up for a ride. Also, will any Nobmobbers be down that way over the week?

Check out Moruya Cycles and the Bermagui Dirt Surfers
A Mtn Bike Park in Merimbula as well, sounds pretty good.

Yep, you're very close to Bermagui MTB park (in the state forest just outside of Berma) maintained by the Bermagui dirt surfers
I just got back from 4 days there
Nice little flowy 9km XC loop not including a nice switch back section and other little side obstacles. And the berms they have made are great fun.
Don't know about riding partners though. In 4 days I did not see 1 other person riding there.
Also, if you're in Narooma you HAVE TO ride up Mt Dromedary. Start at Tilba Tilba. When you enter Tilba there is 'Pam's store' on your left and after this shop a gravel driveway. This is the start of the Mt Dromedary walk (bikes permitted). It's about a k to a gate and then 4 k's straight up. The ride up is a good opportunity to remove logs and other trail obstacles for the way down (unless you like an extra challenge)
At the top it's 4 k's straight down through a great mix of semi-techy rock gardens and hi speed sections. Depending on your brakes, you should smell them when you arrive back at the gate. Great fun.
...I will contact the clubs and try hook up with the guys for a ride, failing which I will go exploring.
.... on Motinbased.... any idea if that is ALL legally open to the public?
there is a bike shop/gym/squash court in narooma in the industrial area.the guy that runs it rides locally with his sons and may be able to show you some local trails.also there is also a really nice out and back 2kms each way in the national park there.its the turn off the main rd just south of narooma called honeysuckle bay i think.lots of really good water bars and very scenic.
The Angry Doctor does pass through some private property.
Hmmm... can't comment on the legality of the Angry Doctor course but it is a blast. I don't recall passing any obvious entry points to private property. Then again, I don't remember much from this year at all
Check MB area search and see what it comes up with.
The guy that owns the Batemans Bay bike shop is pretty cool and may be keen to show you around or hook you up with some local riders for social rides. Aside from Mogo forest there are more trails on the other side of the highway that the guys can point you towards or show you. A little further south are some great options as already mentioned including Bermagui(The trail signboard lists upcoming social rides) and Mendini, which includes the magical log world. Sounds dodgy but is good fun. The xc course however is fantastic. There are numerous other options in the Tathra area( visit the bike shop in Tathra for directions) which are well worth the trip. The names escape me but there heaps of trails in the area with plenty of variety.
