I just had an email from the lovely Rangers

To Manly Dam mountain bike users

The Manly Dam fire trail (mountain bike trail) maintenance work has been delayed.

The mountain bike trail is open until further notice.

Work is expected to start in mid December 2008, however we’ll keep you informed via the email mailing list.

Thanks again

Manly Dam Rangers

Hey Guys
Has this work started on the Dam yet? Have been away over Christmas.

Cheers and happy new year
Phil

PS Checked out Eagle Park MTB Park in Adelaide over Christmas. T'was a lot of fun. Just on the edge of the City in the Adelaide Hills. I came across a big pack of Roos, one of which was the largest I've ever come face to face with. Taller than me, he was stood right in the middle of the trail. We faced off until he blinked first and ran for the nearest bush. The park was pretty cool too. Full purpose built facility, XC, DH and dirt jumping areas. Adelaide is so progressive towards bikes. Sydney/NSW could learn a lot from them. Are you listening?

Anyone know what happened to this work? When we rode yesterday I was thinking there were many places the trail could do with some TLC. We used to have a nice relationship with the ranger (Nic. McVic) and I was told a replacement would be around to pick that up but have heard nothing.

Time for a friendly call to the ranger's office to find out how we can help me thinks.

Just spoke the the Manly Dam rangers. Yeah, they know there's a bit of work needed but have been flat chat with other stuff. They say something will hopefully be sorted real soon. Although not while it's too hot - clearly not the best working conditions.

Anyhow - if you are on their list watch out, and of course if I hear more will post it up.
