Wingello burning?

I heard on the radio last night as I was driving that there were fires in Wingello? Wonder if the nice Fling course we rode is affected.
Of course hopefully no property down there is affected too.

Unfortunately I think the fire will reach the single track before the fire is brought under control. I can't find my Highland Fling Maps but I think Gulp Road (which the fire is named after) is the road that runs parallel with the Great Wall

... is that new sniggle is easier to build after fire. But it would be a bugger to loose any of the top work Huw & co have been doing down there Sad

Yes and no, you need to wait for the vegetation to grow back first before you can really start building new track

But any ways the next working bees are
- Wednesday 14 January
- Wednesday 28 January
- Wednesday 11 February

Timetable for Working Bees
1745 – Meet at Wingello Forest Camp for briefing.
1800 – Head to trackbuilding site(s)
1800-1945 – Work on Track

A bit hard to make for those of us back at work, but if anyone wants a quick mid week escape...

Been drizzling today and trails are still ok, but the fire is still listed as going by the RFS
