Surely we'll have to do Red Hill sometime at night.
Christine....how can we go here and not do the DH track?! I'll bring my pads just in case I can convince you to go down the DH
i suspected you would suggest that so then I planned rather an evil ride to follow... hee hee
If i can get some lights before Wednesday i will come along, but ima nub so...
This will be the first night ride for my homemade LEDs - hope they work!
After my efforts last week, will I need protection from the ground tomorrow night?
If so, anyone got some spare I can borrow?
Nick
you can borrow my Elbow & Knee/Shin pads.
Call me for address.
Cheers, Hans

.....More training must, you do!
Never mind your quest for Red Hill @ night.
Better to concentrate on getting from top of hill to bottom in one piece, you do!
Suggest, I do, you restart you’re training at Terry Hills BMX park.
Use the body amour Ben use the body armour

Yes Master Pikey.....mid flight controls need a bit of work
But I won't be trying anything stupid tomorrow as my knee is still not 100% and pads will definitely be on.
Hey guys/gurls,
ive never been on this ride befor, will i need lights? also i have a DH bike and a full face helmet, will i die? lol. Should i go buy a normal helmet?
Cheers,
Warren
Yes you will need lights. No you don't need a DH bike and full face helmet for this ride. In fact it will be very hard to pedal a DH bike around the course Christine has planned for us!
There are 3 night rides on tonight - that's choice.
I was tempted by Menai, but I should do it properly by day before I go at night.
Liam's ride is also tempting, but a bit of a rush to get there on time and no beer afterwards.
If they can just keep Buck from hijacking the ride and turning it into a DH-fest then I might give OF a go.
No I will keep my mouth shut tonight and follow Christine
lol, i only have a DH bike and a full face, thats y i ask if i would die doing this ride? and lights, just those ones that clamp to the bars be enough?
Cheers
if you bring your downhill bike i will change the ride to avoid the big hill i had planned... may follow the path Paul took us on last time - Paul, would that enitce you to join us? It's not the same without you...
...you had me when you mentioned beer!
you will have one on track with me like we used to do...
The Faith will be fine. The full face helmet will suck, get a normal one if you can.
I will be on a useless little bike that doesn't pedal very well too!
Stumpy is back in business then?
Is the planned course a cross country style? I've never ridden Oxford falls, but if my mate drops out of a ride I have planned tonight, I might meet up, say hello and join you guys (if thats OK).
I have a fine set of ayups...
will I need pads?
what is the technical nature (say, compared to the good ol' dam)?
cheers,
Sean.
I'd say more technical than the Dam whichever route we take.
...we agreed not to talk about my stumpy on the web site
My stumpy is still being serviced
hot. It's starting to cloud over as well, there might be a storm on the way. Do you think it might end up being too wet to ride tonight?
SO wishing I could join you all, have fun
Let there be light
Well it does say late thunderstorm...
you are SUCH a trouble maker!! There is NOTHING on the chart or my weather website... you are just upset that you aren't riding with us tonight...
mind you, you DID manager to beat Buck to the weather discussion!!!
I'm being good today and not bring up the weather and not hijacking the ride with better route ideas
probably saving your hijacking suggestions for when you have a crowd of people standing around that you can try to lead astray...
bet you mention the weather later - OR Lozza may just to amuse himself from 'over there'
Christine, mentioning the weather is a valid discussion point since you have indicated that you wont be there if its raining.
Maybe you should post your rides as going on no matter what the weather to stop speculation.
Also I could be tempted to have one on the trail with you, but you need to find a nice spot to plonk our butts down - how about on the peak above the Widowmaker overlooking the Parkway.
it appears you have a good point, however, I do suspect that even should i have said 'no matter the weather' the other riders would still feel the irresistible urge to discuss whether or not THEY would still be riding...
Funny you suggest that point for beer respite - that is where I was thinking would be a very pretty spot!
You romantic devil you - just a pity the moon is nearly fully waned
is cupcake riding back after a whole beer drunk in less than an hour!!!!
Will bring a can of KB for your entertainment
Don't know about the drunk in a hour bit though, no one could finish a beer that quickly!
Sorry guys, the weather just looks too menacing, and I don't want to catch a cold.
Actually just got stuck at work. I love mud.
I never seem to make it to Oxford Falls.
Nick
Looking at the radar, it's pretty heavy at the moment with plenty of lightning. I will make the call at the last minute, still really keen on a ride. Probably won't pass quick enough though.
Cheers
George.
Just spoke to Christine who doesn't have net at home.
It is cancelled. She lives at Oxford Falls and she cant see the end of her property reportedly!
Raining hard and sideways, lightning, thunder, windy at Red Hill a few k's away.
Luckily I never clicked the star that I was coming.
Probably best if it was called off.
Its only a shower and starting to clear now, looking at the radar.
I'm at Belrose.
We could have done our Terry Hills Ride from the Tavern but without the bikes
the one I dream about.....
Sob!!!
Cancelled, Buck says.
Sob!!!
Oh the disappointment.

One night I may actually ride with your group.
This is the third attempt to join a ride, but its now raining and lightning is not welcoming me to join tonight.
Kids go to sleep at 8pm and my ride starts at 8.30pm usually Manly Dam.
Im tired of riding at night alone.
Maybe next week.
regards Ron Van Grootel
pretty confident someone will join you.
