The usual Wednesday night ride at Terrey Hills. Given the rain it'll be best to stick to Duck Holes and Centre tracks before heading back to the Tavern for a beer!
Let's try to park on the street this time to avoid any more hassles with the pub's management.

Park at the shops then those that do want to go to the pub can and those that don't want to hang around can go straight home.
Atleast that way we're not upsetting the management by parking in a public space, taking the places of customers they clearly prefer to have in their establishment
Just a suggestion, I'm not certain I will be in yet
Let there be light
Let's try the street for now and see how it goes.
It's all too confusing to start from the shops after doing night rides from the Tavern for the past year
a maybe, let u know in the morning!
Bernd
Keen to ride but maybe a different route, seeing as this ride was only done 3 weeks ago.
How about Perimeter trail - Cullamine trail - Weemala Rd single track - Sandy Trail and finally Neverfail trail?
Regardless of where we go I'll be there for a ride tomorrow
What is this "Weemala Rd single track" you speak of?
Mildred back in time i will be there!!
I'm not too fussed as to which tracks we do.
However, from memory the tracks on the south side of Terrey Hills get pretty wet and messy after rain? Duck Holes and Centre tracks drain well.
There are two sections of Weemala rd that have been returned to bushland the section between Booralie RD (Thuddungra RD) and Killawarra RD adjacent to the NSW Gun Club is where I am talking about. It's a narrow track (heavily eroded by horses) mainly hard pack clay only ~200m in length. The erosion in places is so bad you are forced to ride in a narrow channel say 300 - 400mm wide and 200 - 300mm deep. My street directory shows it as proposed road but it was clearly an old road as there are lumps of asphalt near the Thuddungara entry point.
The other non-sealed section is much more like a firetrail/4WD style, hence I called the previous section single track as it is very narrow for the majority of it.
imagine that - horses roaming around in the bush in Terrey Hills!!
tacoed his wheel and he and Mildred ended up going back to the cars together. If memory serves me well, that was the night the "George and Mildred" tag was assigned
Let there be light
Stuart you are correct - its the little track that runs beside the gun club.
and, the erosion has actually been caused by water running down more so than the horses, it used to be a nice little track...
Yeah the water does the most damage in the end, but it's the horses the compact the ground initially that forms a channel that the water runs down.
My family has a farm on the mid north coast and we run cattle and the erosion caused by cattle tracks is very similar
Hi, I am keen to try a night ride but would like to try a night ride before I buy (the lights).
Does anyone have a spare light that I could borrow for tomorrow nights ride? Cheers Glen
PM me and I'll keep you posted - I'll be doing a lap of Duckholes/Centre starting from the pub at 6 if I finish work early enough...
I would stick to the tracks on the north side of terrey hills as the southern side tends to get pretty nasty after wet weather.
i am not going to be able to pick Mildred up in time for the ride (so am going to...HORSE RIDE INSTEAD at red hill!)
You can borrow my sensational lights if you want to pop down and pick them up but you will have to bring them back as they are wonderful and special!!! just email me at work - my email is on my profile and let me know so i can be home and have them ready...
Thanks Christine for the offer,
I won't have time to pick up the lights and get to the ride on time.
Appreciate the offer.
