WANTED: Old 9 speed shifter
Wanted, any old 9 speed shifter you might have laying around the shed. I don't think it really matters what it is, it's for a Shimano 9 speed cassette on my Frankenstein bike.

I think I have an old SRAM X7 9 speed shifter at home....although it may have been discarded in the last clear out. I'll check tonight.

Sadly, SRAM shifters don't work with Shimano RD's and vice versa: different actuation ratio.
I have a set of X7s sitting around as well. I have an X9 RD to go with them if anyone's interested in the combo. No idea what they're worth - an eBay search might tell me I suppose...
Sorry, I thought it was just a shimano cassette, not RD.

Ah, you might be right - LT doesn't mention what the RD is. I didn't read properly - assumed he meant RD.
Thanks for that info, I didn't know that. I have a LX RD and XT cassette. I guess I am looking for a Shimano shifter, anything will do. I have an 8 speed that doesn't work with the 9 speed cassette.
