If I can get a lighting system organised in time, I'm hoping to be there. And if the wife lets me.... we have to move house two days after this.
Col
Might be cutting it fine to be back for food, esp if its a large group?
give the bottle-o and the pizza shop your business for a change. I bet they won't tell you not to park there
Let there be light
fifty percent now - will decide tomorrow - sprained my ankle at touch last night, it's strapped but i am not sure how it will be for tomorrow and i want to be ok for that dreaful oaks ride some woman posted...
It'll end up being cancelled because of the weather, it'll be too blooming hot
Let there be light
I am sure the weather will be fine...PLUS!! It's good training for that horrid 24hr thing (that i will have to walk a lot of from reports i have heard!) ... and the silly 100ks you have entered with me!!!!
you enter yourself in a stupid 24hour team!
and yeah, screw that, it'll be so hot no matter even if the sun has gone down!
Lozza... aren't I in your team for the Mont 24hr?!!
since when do they get the weather right anyway? - bloody hell, it's only TUESDAY and you and Stuart have started the weather discussion - where is Ben - not only that you have talked about weather for an unrelated ride to this one! lol
Look at your ride
Let there be light
Not in your stupid Sydney 24 hour team!
also.. after what happened to the guys at Marramarra, and 30 people being killed by the heatwave in South Australia which is now headed this way...
I wouldn't take it too lightly!
and also... we normally bitch about the rain.. not the heat
Actually the old weather predictions have been pretty spot on lately, at least from the old BOM anyway. And since they are predicting 40 degree heat for Sydney this weekend, it's going to be less training and more torture. Especially considering it'll be even hotter out west! So Lozza made a good call.... don't take it lightly. Good luck!
Colt
i just checked my trusty weather site (grumbing about you lot at the same time) and IT says a high of 29 on Saturday which means it won't be that hot by the time we ride...seeing as it cools down at night, although i am happy to start the ride later...makes no difference to me...
colt! - lighten up for goodness sake!
BOM quotes Friday out west to be 34 and Saturday to be 42....
cummon, fire up blondie!
Lighten up? If I get any lighter I'd float away. But I hope your weather site is right and the BOM is wrong... I've gotta move house this weekend! But I'd rather move furniture in 40 degree heat then be out bush on a bike in the same. Man I can't believe I just said that.
Col.
but I'm going to try and rely on natural light, and limp back using a crappy light(s),
# Sunset: 19:59 EDT
# Last light: 20:26 EDT
Wednesday: An early shower or two clearing to a fine and partly cloudy afternoon. Light winds at first, becoming moderate northeasterly through the afternoon. Min: 22°C Max: 27°C
Well im a newbie and am keen for a ride however was wondering if i will need lights????
...
hey all,
this ride still on? im a newbie n want to come, have no lights though, so may have to ride behind some1 lol.
hopefully see use there
Warren
Hi Warren, Gavina and Shaz (and other newbies) - yes the Night Ride is still on tonight.
Lights (front and rear) are strongly recommended for safety reasons - there is a short stretch of road with car traffic as part of this ride.
While it doesn't get fully dark until 8:30 PM, and there is a large pack of riders with lights, I still recommend to bring a half decent light. Some people start of with a dolphin torch and duct tape on their handle-bars - no worries. But you are doing this at your own risk!
Please be there at 6:45 PM to get ready for a start at 7 PM sharp - so we can all be back at the Tavern before the kitchen closes for last orders at 8:39 PM. And please park on Aumuna road - not the Tavern car park (unless you drive a ute)
See you'se all tonight!
Cheers, Hans

Hey I am pulling out due to my bike being in for a service.
At the last minute I decided to come but never actually caught up. I was totally stuffed after that and so close to averaging 20km/h.

Knowing Paul's impeccable grammar and punctuation I'd say is was deliberate in reference to this:
hehe

Bernd

Bernd
OI, its so not 26.000Kg lol....felt more like 50kg by the end off it...give me a few more rides and ill shows use all how its done ahaha lol...thanks to everyone for a great ride.
Tke care.
Who was that rude bugger in the Angry Doctor jersey that was heading in the opposite direction? He didn't even say hello!
I think they were with TORC
He was a rude bugger - out on his own, didn't stop to chat, obviously no social skills. I think I also saw he had 4 pens in his top pocket, probably some IT geek or similar.
Someone should have told him about NobMob so he would have some friends to ride with.
When we entered the pub for re-hydration I noticed him sitting at a large table all by himself, being the social mob that we are we went over to say hi & steal his table, geez he was ugly up close
thanks all, enjoyed my first ride and i even scored a hat out of it!!!! Felt very honoured, never knew you guys were sponsered by Boags???:-)looking forward to more!
