This requires real lights up front (not my cheap and nasty AA powered faint glow) and a return to the flat pedals.
I'll see what I can do about the lighting situation, because I really want to see what the trails are like beyond the dirt jumps.
Don't worry about the flats Drew, stay clipped in you'll have more fun. Just sort out those lights if you can.
Cheers
George.
Hopefully I can get them in time for Wednesdays ride
Provided they arrive in time I'll be there.
If you insist I'll keep the clips on, but I'll have my flats in my bag if I get get over donating my blood to the ground (the red cross would prefer if i gave it to them)
Cool, i'll bring some band aids.
If I can get the Pitch sorted this weekend, I'll be there... don't imagine this will be as much fun on the Epic
I thought I'd outdo myself in bringing up the weather 5 days early just for Christine.
Monday Shower or two.
City: Min: 21 Max: 24
West: Min: 21 Max: 27
Tuesday A few showers.
City: Min: 19 Max: 23
West: Min: 17 Max: 27
Wednesday A few showers.
City: Min: 19 Max: 22
West: Min: 17 Max: 25
for perfect conditions then !
actually Ben.. i only just left the weather site (checking it for tomorrow on the sly I was!!!)
If the forecast is right......Greg's long dreamed of ride without bikes at the pub may finally happen after all.
you all become such princesses that you can't ride after a 'few showers' - they aren't saying it's going to rain steadily for days on end - red hill is so sandy at the moment the 'showers' should make it really nice...
can we have our beers at Picnic Rock? its lovely up there...
ill be there if i can borrow some lights....
i'm a bit of a noob rider so i might give reddy a trial run tommorow and see if i survive if i manage it i will be along as i live like right down the street
oh and bikemad, I made a wicked set of lights out of 3 9 LED battery torches, they light up the road beautifully when the lights are focused correctly, will get a photo up tommorow of it, not bad for 20 bucks
Recieved my new set of Ay Up lights today, all set now for Wednesdays ride.
Got a busted rib, no lights and I'm not supposed to be riding. See ya's there.
how come you haven't started the weather conversation yet? lol
Oh don't worry Christine. I have been looking at the radar.
But I haven't said anything yet because I have this annoying thing to do today called work
Well since we're on the topic....how much did it rain over at your place last night Christine?
it POURED early this morning... but shouln't be too bad up there, it was very dry before...
very pleased this ride isn't mine to decide and if it's too wet we can always do the duck ponds ride or Pikeys dream of just dinner...
Hans has cancelled that one already
Let there be light
saw that - blouse!
Ride still on as its dry here at the moment in Belrose.

oh wow, its far to wet to be riding of any sort! I'm out!
We've only had on average 10-12mm in the area over the last two days most of which has been light rain overnight, early morining, with relatively dry days. I fail to see then if this rain could cause much damage as it has had the best chance to soak into the dry earth with little chance of much run off, plus it's been pretty breezy today which only helps our cause plus the air seems quite dry.
Sure the track won't be bone dry but it's hardly going to be a bog.
So until further heavy rain I'm still in.
with the heat and dry in the last few weeks/month this rain will just soak into the soil.
We wont notice a thing. I'll be there ready to ride regardless, however I would be just as happy with a beer or 12 and some pub grub to celebrate a belated Chrissie b'day.
now i am pulling out of this ride - BUT I will come up on Narnia - i have decided it's silly to do this with THAT 24hr on the horizon and as Cupcake is out due to injury I don't imagine the boys would be delighted at having a four man team...
see you there!
pfffffffffffffft.
I take it Narnia will be wearing drapers, to prevent that awful horeshit getting on our riding trails...
AND i will try really hard to get her to do a dropping right in the middle of the trail - Just for you!
HEY!! you could have noticed the drama with the team on the weekend being one man down...Lozza!! what are you up to this weekend?!!
have not noticed... I've actually been busy at work (shock horror)
You'll have to tell me tonight whilst Narnia is dropping a massive steamer
No serious 24 hour team for me thanks! I've made that mistake before Also I've never been in worse shape.
they were serious?!! lol
I'm still a possible to turn up tonight, but if I do I'll come from my end (Cromer Golf Course) and meet you on the trail somewhere.
Christine are you going to have lights on Narnia to go night riding or are you just doing a meet and greet.
greet and then potter up to the picnic rock - i don't use lights on her - she has excellent eyesight! but she will have reflectors on her legs... just in case someone comes across us - having said all that i expect to be home with her before dark...
I am not sure how to get from the road into the loop we plan to do so I hope somebody else joining us this evening knows where there going?
Few clouds rolling in / (looked out window again) oops now a little light rain falling but its still to early to cancel.
I'll make the call at 6:00 before I leave the office.
Text me if your off line by then 0431 703 266

Is that a new breed of horse?
Could be an Iron Horse
Had a great day at work after too many bad days sooooooo..... I'm going to chill on the couch with a brew or two, and do nothing.
Hope it stays dry for the rest of you.
Christine.. I hope Narnia is a white horse, or my 7 year old will be disillusioned.
Nick.
The one time a Red Hill night ride may actually happen and I'm stuck at work
Have a good one guys.
I'm still at work also, so very very doubtful.
Ill be there even if theres a small shower or two as I'm keen and not girly like some of you girly like people (work, as if)
Let me know if your pulling out so I don't wait. Leaving at 7:05 sharp.

PS don't forget to bring a beer!

i'm in.. if only to drink beer
hey guys, thanks for letting me join your ride 1/2 way in and then drop out after the single track.. ( had food and wine waiting for me )
been riding up there heaps and never knew that great single track was there!
cheers
dave
Yeah no worries Dave, I had a ball on that single, glad we still had some light for it as it was quite challenging when it got dark. A couple of OTB's a broken hanger early in the piece and a horse.
I'm really liking these Wednesday night rides.
Cheers
George.
I concur, I ride red hill quite often and I'm stoked to have a few more tracks to do up there. I'm going back after work today to see if I can remember the new tracks we did.
Thanks George!
Cheers,
Staffan
