When:
Sunday, 15 February, 2009 - 07:30
Duration:
2 hours
Come Rain or Shine:
If it's raining, I won't be there.
Ride Database Entry:
Menai (Lucas Heights)
Meeting Point:

By the sports field on Old Illawarra Road, Barden Ridge.

-34.037591,151.006672 (Old Illawarra Rd)
Details:

This is a social ride around what I believe to be some of the best trails in Sydney. There’ll be allot of fast flowing single track, technical descents, some tricky climbs and unfortunately some boring fire trail (but not much I promise).

The pace will be easy to medium, and there will be regular stops to make sure everyone’s together. As mentioned there are some technical descents that novices may find a bit tough, but there’s usually a ride around or there’s always the walking option.

I’ve said 2 – 3 hours for the ride because there will be various trails leading back to the cars if people need to go, but my intention is to be out there for the full 3 hours.

This will also be a good taster for anyone thinking of trying the mid week night ride for the first time.

Hope to see you there.

Hello Chris,

I haven't been there before. Is it easy to find if I follow the google directions? Or anything special to consider?
Will write down your mobile number just in case.

Btw, what do you consider rain? I personally don't care too much, but since I don't know the area I would like to avoid coming down if nobody is there who knows the track.

What about rain check at 6.30?

Cheers
Sascha

Hi Guys,

It looks like it's going to be a wet one tomorrow, but I'm going to give it a go any way. I've got cabin fever after spending most of today indoors.

I rode a section of trails Thursday afternoon and it was very wet, but rideable. However, I nearly finished a set of pads front and back, so it's likely to be rough on the bikes!

I think some of the sections I intended to ride are going to be a bit too tricky for me, but we can still go there and at least have a look even if we don't ride them.

As far as meeting up in the morning, I'm going to get there between 07:00 and 07:15 and I'll be in a silver Honda sedan. I usually park outside the school sports field on the Old Illawarra Road, which is fairly easy to find, but if you’re having trouble in the morning please call me and I'll try and help.

Here's praying to the sun gods!

See you in the morning.

Hello Chris,

sounds like a plan. Don't care about light rain, but don't want to be soaked...
If it's pouring down tomorrow morning without hope, I'll give it a miss though.

Will try to be there for 7.30, since I have to drive about 40 mins min. I'll come in a red VW stwg.

I can feel the cabin fever too.

Cheers
Sascha
