When:
Wednesday, 25 February, 2009 - 19:03
Duration:
2.5 hours
Come Rain or Shine:
If it's raining, I won't be there.
Meeting Point:

Terry Hills Tavern (Please park on the street)

2 Aumuna Rd, Terrey Hills, NSW 2084 (Terrey Hills Tavern)
Details:

OK, Time for a varied route.

We start at the Tavern heading to the showground, duck into sandy then into Pauls epiphany trail that runs low coming out behind the showground. Cut through the showground then traverse on the single track back to the Sandy trail head.
Go down on Sandy then we do Neverfail then Larool then road it back to the Tavern for a cleansing Ale!

2.5 hours is my guess with a steady pace.

Not for the beginner or unfit. (Im going as I'm the host)

A good training ride but at a social pace

Who's in?
Rob, pikey, christine, Buck, Paul, Gary, lozza6, steveb, Hanno, MartinB, Morgan, Tom_B, spart, Riz, dangersean, georgesadlik, Lucas (17 riders)
Rob pikey christine Buck Paul Gary lozza6 steveb Hanno MartinB Morgan Tom_B spart Riz dangersean georgesadlik Lucas
What Happened?

Were you there and have a story to tell?

sounds good but am worrying bout the fit part, as have the flu and am doin no form of riding/exercise at the moment, but i should be back to normal by wed!
is it much different to perimetre (the only one i have done up there?)

If you can ride the perrimeter & long trail, TWICE, being about 45 KM then you could ride this one (35 km).

As you know, we stop and wait for all but on rides like this try to ensure a good steady pace!

Shaz you will be fine as there is a half way bail point. (if need be)

Hey Guys, I'm back in Sydney looking forward to the Wed night rides.....Pikey, can I bring a guest? We ride together in Melb, He'll have no problems with the pace. Thanks

christine's picture

this ride won't finish in time to eat at the 'dreaded' tavern will it? (not that that worries me, i will eat all day and before the ride... )
...and before Buck gets in on the weather discussion...you do know that the Sandy trail doesn't drain well don't you?

pikey's picture

No worries, if you feel your friend is up to it then alls good.

Christine, as we are about to enter training mode, maybe missing the 9:00 dinner cut off mightn't be a BAD THING! Sticking out tongue

"NOT DRAIN WELL" Bar humbug!

Dunno about anyone else, but I found the ride last night a bit odd. Think because we didn't know where we were going and there were so many of us we got a bit split and the ride had a disjointed feeling. I got confused as was talking to someone one moment, then they would disappear, then someone else would come along. Don't suppose it helped that I was a bit tired and there were a few folk there I hadn't met. So sorry if I seemed a bit vague! Sticking out tongue

Anyhow - here's the profile:

Another oddity as it was only 15Km. Although this is a nice route for sure. That said - think this ride was mis-sold, Pikey! Eye-wink

Hope your hand is OK today Martin.

you must have been really vague then - or having a blonde moment!!
Pikey certainly had more of an idea of the track last night than when he did the red hill one and duck ponds is only about the same distance isn't it?
i like that ride we did, it's more interesting!
