Sounds intresting to have a go at this but what is the meaning of the grading apart from the number of laps or is that it? One picks the number of laps one wants to do?
Is this the same track as the 12 hour that was on earlier this year - i.e. each lap is just over 10ks?
Cheers,
Staffan
Are more for how fast you ride, ride Novice if you just got your bike D grade for not real fit, C grade is medium pace to fast at the front. A grade guys don't ride at human speeds.
John.
The grade you race mainly depends mostly on your ability I would say and maybe the number of laps you want to do But it wouldnt be fair if an A grader entered D grade because he only feels like one quick lap. So chose a grade or number of laps that you feel you could race at a pace near your limit for the average rider I would say C grade is a good starting point but I am no expert so maybe talk to the guys at rego if you aernt sure.
I didnt do the twelve hour so I wouldnt know but the laps on the weekend were about 7km and the new section for me anyway was a lot of fun.
For a fit to moderately fit rider (riding around once a week) I'd always recommend C grade, D grade is really only for youngsters, old blokes or occasional riders. You will be told when you should move up.
Thanks for the clarifications, I looked at the result list as well so I know the average speed and the distance in the various classes.
Just need to check the calendar to make sure it is clear and then go for it.
Cheers,
Staffan
A grade. People who actually enjoy riding, testing themselves and want to have a go
B Grade. Fast sandbaggers who would rather have a top 10 next to their name then test themselves against better riders and those not so fit who may struggle to complete the 5 laps .
C Grade. Slower, second rate sandbaggers who still want the top 10 but can't mix it with the b Grade sandbaggers and those just getting the bug and in it for a couple of fun laps.
D grade. Really lazy sandbaggers and those just trying the sport for the first time
Singlespeed. Dont really care just out to enjoy the track and show the geared riders how to ride a hill.
I might give this a go... I need to work on speed and cornering, should be a good challenge. Grade C for me I think?
Bugger - I'm still going to be in NZ so ut loks like I'll miss this one. Good luck to the rest of the 'Mobbers' and I'l see you at the DW.
Given the weather the last few days will the tracks be really muddy? - does anyone know or dare to have a guess how much rain reached the area and what the state of the track may be on Sunday?
Cheers,
Staffan
Up here and the track drains very well, unless it's pouring on the day I wouldn't worry
John.
I may just have to jump on this ride with WSMBC . The thought of driving almost two hours to Canberra and worse drive back soaked and freezing just doesn't have the same appeal anymore .........must be getting too old for this crap ....naaaahh i have my wet weather tyres on so i will see what my mood is like sunday morning ! Why do they run these things at the same time , i want to do both
Sorry guys, I can't make this one now. Have fun all that are going...
