The Mont: can any one decide where we are going to camp as a group?
There is a map of the camp site on the last newsletter for the Mont, can any one mark out where about we are likely to camp and post it up here? (puter nerds)
It would make it easy to find when we get there tomorrow, especially the ones arriving in the dark friday night.

C'mon Tien, I know you can use a mobile....
I'd suggest up towards the top gate if we have that choice. Good for view and transitioning but might be a little bit noisey with bikes riding by all night? There is a proper loo up there as well. Tien might be familiar with where I am speaking of.
Other benefit of being up high will be less likely to be as damp as at the bottom if it rains and general traffic.
Pikey and Harry have done supremely well on previous events...so we are in good hands.

and I had a vague sort of a plan. From what I can gather there are a few of us arriving about lunchtime on Friday. We were just going to hook up on Friday lunctime as soon as both of us get there and then we will reserve some spots. But from what I can gather we will have to reserve a shedload of space for the Nobby teams
- (danger) Sean and Blondie
- Whisperer
- Me! (with three spare bikes)
- anyone else?
We would try and camp and close as possible to the firetrail north of Race HQ

I think Peter aka Delicious is arriving around lunchtime as well. He will have some bunting tape so we can help mark off an area.
Bruce and I are also heading down sometime Friday.
Cheers

Hey V and I will be getting down there around lunchtime as well.the nobmob camp is going to be huge!!!
Here is a map of where the preferred camping area is.
Whether we can get a decent area will depend on the time we get there and the 'locals' getting in before us.
I'd really like to have a pit area 'on the track', between the access road and track, with camping in behind.
That way we have it good for transitions, and get to watch the race go by.
But anywhere to the left of the access road above race HQ would be good. Second option is anywhere to the left of the creek and the dam.
I'll be leaving Chatswood around 7.30 all going well with packing tonight.

blondie and I are leaving the insular peninsular no later than 10am, so we should show up sometime after 1.30pm...
woohoo... cant wait!
it would be great if soemone could pop back on here once the campsite has been found/setup and advise the latecomers of the approx zone, will save lots of aimless driving once there

I have my kick arse iphone, so pending coverage i'll post. from memory, when I was down there a month ago I had 3G on the side of the highway at the entrance to Sparrow.

This seems to be the course as far as I can tell. It is orientated differently to the one of the Mont site but I'm sure you get the idea.

parking where whisperer suggested probably would work but it will be quite close to race HQ so dont know how noisy and bright it will be.
Are leaving Syd around 1 (Friday)so wont be the first there. WE NEED NoBMoB TO SET UP CAMP, against the north fire trail as we need the fence to piss on during the night. doesnt matter how far along the wall we end up just make sure we are on the pissing wall.
Apart from that would the first there please peg out at least 50 m x 25 m, it seams big but trust me we will need it. hog the area with cars that can be removed later.
Thanks guys
Pikey
