I suppose thats one of the bonuses of living away from the northern beaches ......it never bloody rains !!! But at least i get to ride more out here . Although fireroad training around the Mt Annan Botanic gardens doesn't help the technical training i need

You could always do a couple laps of Appin!

I also heard there is an out and back sniggle starting at Camden South along the river....

Bikeboy's picture

To go and look for them , but should someone point me in the right direction i would be a happy camper . I allways thought that Appin was only open for XC racing

Nah - Appin is open all the time (well - when a race is on guess that would be the exception). Check it out, the place rocks! Smiling

Jump off the bike track at the bottom of Ulmarra Ave, ride towards the trees and there's an openning there to some sniggle that runs along the river. I haven't ridden it for years but I remember it being pretty tricky in places. A mate of mine still lives out there and rides and maintains the trail so I know its still in good nick.

I shall give Appin a go and have a look at Camden too ...Great Coffee in Camden ....hmmm Coffee......

Hasbeen Racing's picture

Seriously, my parents still live there and when I go out to visit I will often duck into town for a coffee. The backgallery (?) cafe is ok but everywhere else has been awful. The one down near the Merino used to be ok but the last coffee I had there rivalled Starbucks!

I grew up there also, and no I don't recall any good coffee...

serves a great Cappucino , perhaps new owners now but its a very good coffee and i generally dont drink shit coffee ....unless at a 24 hour race or desperate
