Lane Cove National Park
I'm assuming the dam is still closed and at best very wet still. Thought I might try and explore closer to home round Lane Cove National Park. Anybody know where best to access these and which tracks I should be looking out for? How wet will it be?
Cheers

Hey Lane cove gets very wet and muddy as all the water from both sides drains into the river so if it's wet at the Dam then Lane Cove will be worse!
Be prepared to wash your drivetrain after each time you go there

Maybe I'll just ride on the black stuff with my big fat tyres.
Where on the Northern Beaches might be half decent?

West Head/Akuna Bay are always good...
You could even peel off and do some of the West Head trails if you needed your dirt fix.
and one I was thinking of, see how I feel in the morning, but it seems like ages since I was off road.
Be careful on the west ride, I do it quite often and on the last wet Sunday I had a huge stack on the corner just before the lookout. I was on my slicks and completely lost traction on both wheels. Amazingly I walked away with few injuries but I must have been doing over 40kph when I hit the deck.
As I was pulling myself out of the barrier a car just missed me with all wheels locked up. Plenty of bits of cars etc littered around there and no signage to warn you of what is too come.

Should be pretty good if you don't mind a drive - heading up there early tomorrow myself with a couple others.
Heading up Commission Track, on to the bridge at least and then back down the main drag.

if at first you don't succeed, try not to look astonished.
I rode from Pennant Hills to North Ryde and back today, and there were a few puddles but it's mostly dry.
Cascades dries out pretty quickly, but Lane Cove should be pretty good by now too. Start up the top near Pennant Hills Sports complex and ride to the back of Mac Uni and return.
Not sure it does... not unless it's stinking hot and the rain has fallen after a period of dry.
IMHO the best draining tracks and duck hole/centre up in Terrey Hills. Hardly exciting riding, but a few laps of that circuit will do you some good
Red Hill is another option.
