Depending on who comes along I may incorporate some games into this ride to ensure you all have fun and don’t hooooon around...

if I can wear my "long lycra"!!!!!
Bernd

craigs's picture

is sleep deprivation part of your 24hour training as well Damian?

Mind you I am up shortly after 5:30am to make Blondies ride. Guess that will limit the beers on Friday night.

Craig

Damien's picture

Great time of day to be up gets me up to Glenbrook nice and early for a nice solid 4hr ride and back to the family and kids so I can be a dad fro some of the day at least.

Damien's picture

I will wear mine to then.

Actually I might flounce around on the road bike for a few hours on Saturday morning.

MDOldFart's picture

drinking or go to bed Craig. Then it will be perfectly OK for you to bring an ale to have at the lookout about 8.15am.

Problem solved.

Now for the shorts issue, I have a circa 1980's pair of running shorts like these http://s7d2.scene7.com/is/image/UnderGear/RW59zz They'll be OK won't they Blondie? Do you have anything specific you want me to wear underneath them?

christine's picture

maybe if you have a body like his I could possibly be swayed...

naaaah - no swaying! Shorts ARE required even if you DO look like that....

MDOldFart's picture

I'll be there, just in those shorts.

Lucky I'm hairy, otherwise my chest might get a bit cold

christine's picture

you didn't read properly... SHORTS ARE REQUIRED - unless you are planning to ride solo?

nb - he doesn't have a hairy chest - the guy in the red shorts.. Smiling

MDOldFart's picture

shorts are required, I'll be wearing those shorts, nothing else, just as requested.

Now, is there any requirments for the ladies attending this ride?

anke13's picture

I feel left out Sad

craigs's picture

we should see about adding a dress code option to the ride template?

If boys must wear shorts how about girls should have to wear dresses and ride side saddle?
No one has asked why girls can wear lycra but boys cant? (I know this is obvious to some)
Is it that lycra is in some way associated with anti-social as this ban may suggest?

(disclaimer: this is not a serious post)

MDOldFart's picture

Dangersean was saying a few of the girls on last Saturdays road ride looked good in their lycra.

Where does this leave Buck? You always say he looks really girlie in his road knicks

christine's picture

and as there is currently a shortage of female bike riders we can wear whatever we like... Smiling and no, hot pink sequinned bras will not be making an apperance by me...

you may now all shriek 'sexist' but hey! shorts look so much nicer on you boys (except a select few...)

so, to your 'sexist' calls - i say.. Tell someone who cares! lol

jdb's picture

I'm tempted to shave my legs, put on some lycra and join Heckler's Scum ride Sticking out tongue

anke13's picture

Sean, how many women did you see on the Saturday roadride. I thought I was the only one. Were you drunk again Eye-wink

christine's picture

not to point out the obviousl but shaving legs and wearing lycra is two rules and I have only implemented one for this weekend...

Jo's picture

Guys, I don't want to see your wobbly bits or your flabby hair stomach/chest/back and I dont want to see the outline of your thingy through the lycra. Please wear baggy long shorts.

A hill twice climbed is never as steep.

MDOldFart's picture

I'll be moving so fast nothing will be wobbling(?)

Just picture a sharpee with its head out the window of a fast moving car.

dangersean's picture

last saturday. Lorrie was there Eye-wink

christine's picture

if you count Ev as well.. Smiling

dangersean's picture

I was just about to edit my post because I didnt want to offend Ev by leaving him out.

anke13's picture

was that the reason you rode at the back on the pack with me, so you could look at her backside Sticking out tongue

craigs's picture

In the ride post you mention games....please explain?

christine's picture

other than this afternoons effort?
i will decide on the day depending on the group... Smiling

Sean... you rode up the back? But you are a 'roid boy...

MDOldFart's picture

the games have started already.

Anke, maybe he just rode at the back with you 'cause he enjoys your company but from what I hear you weren't at the back going up the hills!!

dangersean's picture

I was never at the back. some girl in a turramurra jersey was behind me Eye-wink

Bikeboy's picture

There is enough games on this site ......Without the need to bring them on rides

BTW how long do you need to be on this site to graduate from noobie to lurker to regular NOB ( you will never get me i lycra .....its just too damn cold !!!)

MDOldFart's picture

wearing a brossiere under the Turramurra jersey?

christine's picture

you aren't a nooobie anymore honey!

Bernd's picture

one thinks who are the few???
"shorts look so much nicer on you boys (except a select few...)"
???
Bernd

Drew Peacock's picture

if u r not goin to let me were lyrca then im not comin.
serously i cant make this ride - too early on saturday after what is promising to be an epic friday

evan's picture

Thanks Chiic and Sean Sticking out tongue

Colt's picture

Do we really want to open that can of worms Bernd? Someone might get offended... or an over-inflated ego. Smiling

christine's picture

WHAT were you thinking going out in public in Turramurra gear?

colt - totally agree with you... Smiling

Bernd's picture

are boring!!
Bernd

christine's picture

since you aren't even coming on this ride i don't care that you think that!!!

.. anyway, I am fairly sure George would put himself forward for looking good in lycra - why don't you do a poll if you are that interested?!!

evan's picture

than having get Nobbed on your back while riding on the road.

anke13's picture

People know what a friendly bunch of people we are, saying "hello" or even stopping for a chat. Unlike Turramurra jerseys, which make people flee in the the opposite direction Eye-wink

christine's picture

I am almost - but not quite - speechless that you would say that - hand your nobmob jersey back in...
Anke not that i Scum but i totally agree with you!

evan's picture

They are also my local bike shop and we are always on about supporting the local bike shop, so I am.

Yes I agree some of the Turra people have been given the non friendly tage but all the ones I have meet are.
NobMob jersey for MTB rides, whatever jersey I like for scumming.

Steve 01's picture

on this one .Having Get Nobbed on your back while Road riding is offensive to the general public as well as being Bogan

MDOldFart's picture

it's just lucky most people wear packs that hide it

OzMoT's picture

sadly i rode the DW in lycra, thought i would give the club some interntional exposure....all i managed was to expose my large chutter for several hours....never again!

Even more sad is that the dreaded swine flu will not leave..so will have to skip this jaunt, although there was mention of scantily clad ladies in pink bra's..if that's the case, i'll be the sick looking fella with two snot rocket trails down each cheek

Nice to see that the tarhead - vs - dirt argument is truly international...dam Roadie posers, maybe if they had more bike skills they would actually lift a hand to say hi now and then...

Paul's picture

Is there a ride post somewhere among all this other twaddle?

Carlgroover's picture

I didn't see too many people "flouncing" around in their Lycra at the 24 solo, yet every last one of them was wearing it, so is it only serious MTBers that are comfortable with it, as it's definitely the best choice for riding in.

Girls if you don't like the bulge in guy knicks don't look there, I don't. I am also very tolerant of the camel toe, so encourage the use of Lycra.

Christine, Did I hear someone say they were against "reverse sexism" Smiling

christine's picture

reverse sexism and i have no problem at all with lycra at a race or competition, however, when i first started mountain bike riding with nobmob you would not have been able to pay any of the boys to ride aound in lycra -

anyway, its my ride and if i want to ask people to wear shorts becasue they all look sooo much cuter and sexier in them i can! They dont have to come on the ride after all.. Smiling

Damien's picture

See you at the races.

christine's picture

night rides at the oaks allows for lycra!!
its just this saturday one that has shorts requirement - goodness me, what a fuss about bloody shorts!!!

Carlgroover's picture

Should all go out and vote for senile Fred Nile so we can be told what to wear when, he'd bring back head to toe swimmers.

MDOldFart's picture

if I post a ride can I ask the girls to wear what ever I want? I'm picturing G-Strings on the outside of lycra for a change, what do reckon CoolAide?

You know for the life of me I still can't work out why so few women actually ride with us Eye-wink
