- you'll love it. A few challenges here and there. Are you going in a team or solo?

Realised last night that I'm signed up for the AMBC riding clinic on the 20th, so will try and get to Appin this weekend for a few laps.

If you're doing sunday morning training session I might join in. Desperate to get some training in.

I'll probably be staying at Mum's (20minutes from Appin) or driving out from Freshwater early in the morning

staffe's picture

I'll leave early from the northern beaches. It is pretty quick getting there that time of day.

Had an absolute ball at Appin today, track was in pretty good condition. Looking forward to the 8hr next weekend, when I'll remember to bring my helmet... woops Shocked

of this race. Had a nasty stack on saturday that resulted in a completely torn knee ligament and a crack in the tibial plateau (that is the thick part under the knee of the lower leg). I hope the rest of you will enjoy it and kick some arse, I'll be hobbling on crutches for some time I suspect. Seeing a specialist on monday and hopefully I'll know what I'm up for after that appt.

cheers

My own fault and stupidity. Launched into a jump w/o having the faintest idea what was behind it....

i'll be pulling the pin on this one. i've never ridden appin and i've just given both bikes a full service. i couldn't think of anything more frustrating than riding around and buggering up one of them.

christine's picture

is this another example of you morphing into the full precious scummer that can only ride a mtb when the tracks are cross country and totally dry... Smiling

Release this george and bring back the old george...

I will be there.

The Epic was serviced this week, tonight I'll be working on the Pitch installing new gear cable and changing the rear derailleur.

The track was dry last weekend, hopefully the rain hasn't affected it too much.

Comment from rotorburn

We copped some really heavy rain yesterday and with more forecast today and over the weekend there is no doubting the track will be wet.

I rode 2 of the club rounds this year in the rain and the track holds up really well in the wet. Being sandstone based it doesnt get overly muddy, but the sand that gets washed onto the track is really coarse and eats bike bits.

Keep an eye on the bom site and if you decide to race, take something to wash your bike with in between laps... or just take it down to the first river crossing and dunk.

Either way, the lure of a warm dry couch and memories of the last 2 wet races here is enough to keep me out of this one.

Good luck

I might be siting this one out also Puzzled
