Well - they are listed as $360AUD on CRC (but discontinued) so the price looks good. With the usual eBay caveats.

Haven't we spoken about this before and tried to talk you into saving $$$ for a whole bike upgrade later on though?

Mountainbiker dropped round to my place with dad and brother in tow a couple of weeks ago: when track conditions (and winter headcolds Sad ) permit, he and my youngster are planning on going for a lap or two of the dam together, so we did a "meet the parents" session to make sure that the other wasn't some weirdo internet stalker. Needless to say, they're really decent folks. Smiling

I had a look over his and his dad's bikes. He does have a genuine issue, with the fork being miles too stiff, even with the preload backed right off. I couldn't get it to compress much even with my full weight on it (85kg). The one on his dad's is softer! So I think an upgrade to better forks bought second hand is a fair call. Air forks give him an easy ability to stiffen it up as he grows and puts on more weight, and a really good one he can move between bikes.

He missed a good deal on almost-new RS Toro SL air forks last night tho' - under $200!

I run Recon forks and they are quite good, they are stiff, strong and reliable. I have had them now for about 2 years, they have done a lot of work (3-6 hours a week on trails) and I just recently had to get the seals re-done. For their price, you probably can't get better. Maybe look at a CRC order though, unless you get a warranty card with the forks on eBay, just in case.

CRC don't sell them any more. when you say stiff do you mean stiff compressing it and with all air fork can you pump air into them or let some out with all air forks. Can this fork be able to pump air into it

When he says nice and stiff, he's not talking about the springing. He means stiff as in the legs don't flex much and the bike goes where you point it. Do you remember we were discussing what the merits of the Lefty forks were, that 'stiffness' came up in the conversation, yet mine is quite "plush" when you put your weight on it?

Stiff, like this:

oh cool i get it now

Wow - thanks for posting that up. I've been going on and on about how no-flex-super-stiff the Leftys are for ages but that demo where the dude hangs off it is awesome!

P.S. Nice team bike too.

P.P.S. Nice trails also, although what's with the running track transition!
