My girlfriend has just moved to Melbourne and asked if we want to go and ride the surfcoast6hour event with them in October - does anyone know about this event or has anyone done it OR is anyone else interested in doing it? Apparently it starts at 4pm till 10pm and has solo, teams of two or three...

We bought my son's dually off the organisers awhile back. They seem like decent people, and it looks like the event is well run.

I have been down to help out with rego, timing and results for all of these events - so you may think I'm biased, but...
DO IT ! ! !
It is great. They had small numbers first year, then maxed out their Park limit second year with more on the waiting list. That pretty much speaks for itself. Good atmosphere, good camping and a different sort of track in the back-of-the-beach terrain, but nothing you would find unpleasant*

* Actually, the only thing I find a bit of "mental torture" about the race is that on a hot Saturday afternoon, you're riding along a course where you can check out the surf! Its not uncommon to see a rider from a less-competitive team starting a lap with a beach towel over their shoulder.
