When it rains, it pours, eh?!

This is nothing to do with the Manly Dam debarcle that is ongoing as I write, but have just got word of another very important advocacy meeting from the editor of AMB:

Hi all,

The NPA has called a public meeting next week to outline their arguments against proposals to allow mountain biking in national parks in Sydney's north. We desperately need numbers there! In light of everything that has happened in the past few weeks we need to have a strong presence.

Warringah Council Meeting - Show support with silent protest

Meeting Point:

Council Chambers, Civic Centre, 725 Pittwater Road, Dee Why (enter Civic Drive)

While the council meeting is obviously still on, there's no need to go from an MTB point of view as Manly Dam is re-open

Council need to be shown immediately what a mistake has been made, and how many riders are effected by the recent Manly Dam trail closure.

As such it would be a very good idea to show up at this meeting for a silent show of support. Speakers are not allowed at this meeting and rowdy, insulant or other petty behavior would not help our cause one bit.

I think you can guess what this might be about Eye-wink

It is chance to show council how many riders care about the Manly Dam circuit. The plan is to ride the circuit legally. What this means is that we will set of and ride where we can, walk carrying bikes where we are not allowed to.

Given it's likely the Dam won't be up to much even if it is open, I'm going to head to Appin as it normally drains better. Planning on doing a few laps at a reasonable pace but will wait for anyone if needed (hopefully they'll wait for me too).

If you fancy joining let me know.

We are a team of 4 who have got together through Nobmob and created a Mont 24 Team.
I have met Nate, but am yet to meet the others and want to do a meet and greet and a bit of a training ride. All who want to join us are more than welcome if this time slot suits you. Lights will probably not be necessary, but a good idea.
Should be pretty casual, but not too much stopping. Not sure how fit the others in my team are really.
