Clean Racing Update, + Last Chance Before the Fling…

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

A quick update on Clean Racing.

Please note Clean Racing is a NobMob Affiliate, so this is a paid ad.

Our first 2 members have been on the program for 10 days now.

Bailey was already very lean and fit, but is looking to build more strength and speed. After 10 days on our nutrition and training program he reports feeling stronger and recovering faster, which is allowing him to get more from his training. He had a great race at Ourimbah on Sunday, finishing 3rd in B Grade.

Clean Racing Update

Well our team is up and running with the first two members. One who wants to drop a few kgs and achieve a PB at the Fling, and another who Is already pretty lean and fit, but also wants to get faster at the Fling. So we're putting together training and nutrition plans this week, which is perfect timing with 2 months til race day.

I'll post updates from time to time and ask them to give their own appraisal of the program for anyone else who's considering joining us.

Stay tuned!

Coaching

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Well we've had the Amway version of mountain bike coaching and nutrition put to us, but since the way that was sold on this forum raised a few too many red flags for me, I'm looking for some more conventional alternatives.

Can anyone suggest or recommend a coach to work with? Experience with - ahem - more "senior" athletes would be well regarded.

I have recently acquired power meters on both roadie and race mtb with this in mind. Can work with a remote coach if needed but prefer someone local to Sydney, and Northern Beaches would be better.

Let me know your thoughts!

Best time of the year to buy brand new bike ?

Folks,
I gave myself six months to buy a new bike, hardtail 29er, as light as possible for a 2 grands budget. Don't know yet the brand I want (specialized is my first choice so far) but have you noticed in the past years that there are time of the year where you can't get it wrong, it will be a good deal ? Of course end of financial year but that is too far.. Christmas maybe ? just after ?

Cheers

Wanted: 6 Highland Fling riders who want to get Lean and Fast.

Hi there - we are NobMob's newest affiliate - a new MTB team. This is the first public release of info about this team, with a website and official launch to follow in the coming weeks.

A New Team Concept

Clean Racing is a new MTB team, and a new concept. We’re on the lookout for up and coming elite riders to support, but we’re also opening the team up to all other riders. It's different, because the team is funded through product purchases made by the team members. So it’s a “crowd-sourcing” -funded MTB team.

While we encourage everyone to support local bike shops, and in particular our local sponsors, Bike Addiction and Bicycles Online... it's understandable people shop around for deals.

To that end just a heads up on a few nice offers from CRC that just hit my mailbox:

47% off the very well regarded Fox Racing Flux Helmets:

Cheap 650b tyres

Whilst buying a very expensive replacement chain (that's what you get when you need it TODAY) I noticed some very cheap Racing Ralph's in at Inner City Cycles in Glebe. They are unlabelled but they tell me they are 650b.

They are taking them off new Giants when the customer wants some other tyre. They have a big basket of them about $20 each I think. Only the "performance" level but I've found these reliable for fronts (sidewall a bit weak for rears).

Enjoy!
