MTB trickle down??

some interesting new enhancements to the data that can be collected using Garmin's Vector power meter pedals, Garmin claim platform offset can be used to improve bike fit, peddling efficiency and potentially prevent injury! The current design makes these pedals too vulnerable for MTB but it'll be interesting to see how long it takes for this tech to trickle down to MTB?

Gotta love tech toys Eye-wink

Tubeless Tyres

Being new to tubeless - what brings about a slow leak in a tyre? I've had the wheels for about 10 months and had to top up the air every few weeks. Now it's 20% flat after a couple of days. They are carbon rims so I don't think you can dent them - is it possibly a smallish hole in the tyre or more likely rims? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Clicking noise from Mavic SLR 29 rear wheel

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi, just had the rear hub replaced and an annoying clicking noise has started on the rear wheel. It sounds like cross spokes grinding, yet the spokes don't make contact on the cross. Has anyone encountered anything like this with Mavic SLRs? Thanks

Installing a new chain

Gday fellas just got a little question for you guys (and girls).

I bought a new 10 speed shimano xt chain to replace my cheese cutter kmc and wondering if anyone has any tips for the install? Can i cut to the same length as my old chain or will stretching make it difficult? Also can i reuse the quick link and are different brand quicklinks interchangeable?

Thanks,

Jono.

Has anyone heard/used one of these ones? According to them you will have basically 2 chainrings in one?

Help something weird going on with my fork

Need some help. When pumping air into my fork it seems ok until it reaches around 60psi. Then as I try to pump more air it shoots up to 100psi. I can feel quite a lot of resistance if I try to pump any more . The needle on the gauge gradually goes down. I've tried another pump but same thing. Is the air not going into the fork but just filling the hose on the pump? Any help appreciated

27.5 inch parts and 26 inch parts

Can anyone advise what parts are interchangeable between the two sizes.

Ie; wheels, brakes, forks, running gears

Cheers

Rubena 29er tyres

I've had the chance to play with some Rubena tyres over the last few months on the 29er.

My thoughts here:
http://www.bicycles.net.au/2014/09/rubena-kratos...

For the racer boys, I'd add that they perhaps don't roll quite as fast as a Rocket Ron + Racing Ralph combo, but if you're after a robust set of training tyres that give good grip and wear, they're a good buy.

Disclosure: the tyres and sealant were provided at no charge for the purpose of the review.

For those running 1x10 gears, a few questions

Do you miss your 2x10 or 3x10 setup ?

I'm thinking of going 1x10 (34t front and getting the 42T rear for my XT cassette), as I've had enough of the front dérailleur rubbing on my chain. I think I should be alright running 34x42 as the lowest gear, after playing with some online gear charts.

Any other downsides of going 1x10 except for losing a range of gears ?

Cheers,
Mario

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi there,

I have a Serfas saddle on my bike and it really isn't comfy.
As my ride goes on, I find it I'm favouring staying out of the saddle ha ha

What's comfy out there? The king jewls needs it
