Excuse my lack of knowledge on something I'm pretty sure i should know, but I need a new wheelset for my bike (http://archive.trekbikes.com/us/en/2008/trek/fue...)
What do I need?
15mm front & 135mm x QR rear

DH/Free ride knee pads
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has any knee pads that they would recommend on getting for mix of riding: trail, DH, and free ride.
I am after a knee pad that is not so bulky but still protects you when ya fall off. Let me know what you think..
Thanks

Cross chaining
I've had my GIant Trance 2 for almost a year now and I love it, its perfect for the Dam and also went beautifully down at Stromlo, Sparrow and Madura a while ago. Probably ride 2 -4 times a week, depending on work and weather so it gets a good going. Anyhow, I'm not too mechanically minded, but did notice the gears cross chaining under a bit of pressure, eg going up the pinches or half way up a hill, so took it to the shop to get checked.
Lapierre 914
Guys anyone got or had one of these....what did you reckon?
Been offered a new carbon frame and just wondering if I want to build it up.
Cheers

Chris king wheel build
Have some shiny new chris king hubs, what rims should I lace them too for AM riding. Carbon or alloy?

Backpacks
Any thoughts on backpacks. I always used camelbak as nothing beat their durability but they have changed the material they use and frankly are rubbish now. What do people think is a good substitute. Sick of companies compromising quality.
Giant Reign 3 Suspension Bearing
Hey all,
I bought an old Reign 3 '05 last year and finally got round to rebuilding it.
When I took apart the rear suspension, the upper bearing (i think its called the seatstay pivot, refer to pic) both just fell in pieces. Not sure if that what those bearings are meant to do but never seen that before.
I have bearings for the rest of the suspension set up but need to replace these smaller ones.
Does any one know the model or specs of the bearings i need to get?
Any help would be appreciated.
Stuck Pedals
I cleverly didn't put enough grease on my pedal thread on my old bike and time has come for the pedals to be changed, and I've been informed that there is some spray or liquid or something that can be applied to help loosen them to take them off. Anyone able to think of what this is offhand?
Carbon Rim Failure
Well with 2 weeks til the Fling and after solid block of training, the front carbon rim on my Giant Anthem Advanced has failed - see attached photos. There was always a small "ridge" in the rim, like the one near the air valve, but where the spoke has popped out the ridge got bigger over time. I now suspect this might have been a manufacturing defect, since there are no ridges at all on the back rim. The bike is 2 years old. The failure happened unexpectedly - no crash or impact. I've written to Giant to ask if they have any advice...
Loctite choice?
Just pulling the bike apart and putting it back together. piece by piece, there are some screws whick look like they have had loctite on them, and some that need them.
Bike: Trance
Riding style: Cross country
And advice? was thinking 243 according to the website
Didnt think i would have so many choices
