We have spoken to the NPWS and they are OK with us doing a bit more substantial work on 'the trail formerly known as BJ's'.
I'd like to think we can get as much interest as we did with ' the trail forerly known as SH's'.

We will meet at the top of Bailey's Paddock around 9.30 for a 10am start down at the trail.

NPWS ranger Tiffany will be attending and NPWS will supply snacks and drinks, you will have to bring your own lunch if you want it.

Everyone is welcome, new starters or old hands and bring your friends, there will be a lot of work to do.

Ourimbah after rain - 29/05 ?

Does anyone know the condition of the Ourimbah XC track? I'd planned to head up there today, but I'm unsure whether all the rain in Sydney last night made it there as well.

Anyone able to confirm?

Cheers,
Scott.

Yellomundee Regional Park update for 28 May

Status:
Green/Open

They haven't had anything like the rain we've had closer to the city, only 20 odd mm over the week, I rode there today (Friday 28/5) and noticed obvious spots where there had been run off after a decent shower, so ,watch out for a little debris, but the good thing is, since they haven't had the amount of rain we've had, it's either soaked in or run off, there's hardly a puddle to be seen! In fact, I could see the track drying out as I was there!
Stay to the southern loops, as a couple of spots on the northern side are still out, I know that a foot bridge is out of action and WSMTB is working on getting it fixed and those trails are also over grown. Otherwise the trails will be super grippy over the next day or so, barring any more rain.

Centre Track update for 28 May

Area:
Centre Track
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

A few puddles but ride-able.
Think I may have picked the driest day in a 2-3 week period! Should be good until it rains again...

Awaba – single speed gearing

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I am relatively new to the world of single speed riding. But I have entered into the Rocky Trail enduro at Awaba in July. I convinced a mate to join me, and given his complete lack of riding opted for the 4hr solo effort. So given the short(er) format I thought go the SS. I understand there is a bit of a hill to deal with so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions re gearing?

By way of reference I am currently running 32*18 and am happy completing the dam - current SS best lap being 32min 2 sec.
