Goldfields Track update for 22 Nov

Status:
Green/Open

I rode the Goldfields Track with a couple of mates in early November. It was in excellent condition - a few muddy patches on the Wallaby Track (all completely passable). Fantastic dry conditions on the Dry Diggings and Leanganook Tracks.

Manly Dam update for 21 Nov

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Green/Open

Some awesome work by the trail fairies on the run down into the 19th hole with some awesome little jumps so go hit it up! Gahnia now open too but pretty loose as it's covered in dried up leaves but all Manly Dam is riding beautifully including the bewildered possum and Kevin Kosner

Manly Dam update for 17 Nov

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Green/Open

All fine and dry and little loose today. Not sure that will last with the rain forecast. There was a vegetation adjustment crew out on the fire trail section so expect a few more sticks and vegetative matter than usual along there.

Hadn't ridden the Dam for a few years. It's got a bit easier with the track work in some areas and harder with the wear and tear. Will take me a few more laps to get all the lines right.

Had a head on with another rider just before the track pops out beside Manning Rd. No real damage but a bit of a shock as we both came around a little tree into each other. Is riding anti-clockwise common?

Bantry Bay update for 17 Nov

Bantry Bay

Gahnia is open again. Be careful as the track is strewn with leaf litter, making it a bit slippery in sections.

The Final Fling

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

A fun but sad weekend in Bundanoon for the 13th and final edition of the Highland Fling. Did the full camp out in the paddock thing. Registered and got my string to tie on the number and a couple of free CO2 cartridges (small). Ate food to support the local primary school. Woke early, so I was already in the dunny queue when the piper hit the paddock. Queued for coffee with my own cup in compliance with the Fling's waste minimisation approach. Breakfasted, prepped the bike, watched the Full Flingers take off and then kitted up and headed out for a short warm up before the Half Fling.

Any NobMob Final Flingers?

Going down for my final half fling (I'd been building up to the full, but too last I guess).

I always like how the organizers try to instill a sense of fun in these events, with themes Rolloff, kids races etc.

Manly Dam update for 10 Nov

Manly Dam

Doesn't get much better. Run down to the 19th hole is hero dirt (would usually still be puddles after recent rain), which is a testament to the recent trail work.
