NPWS Meeting Apr 9, 2008
This afternoon Justin and I met with a two representatives of NPWS (Ranger Kim McClymont and Area Manager Chris Grudnoff) at their office in Forestville.
I am very pleased to report this was seen by all parties as a very productive encounter, with everyone keen to hear others point of view and coming away with some constructive actions that will hopefully help all involved, and of course the mountain bike community as a whole.
The short version: Things have come to a head at Oxford Falls (Garigal National Park) as a result of large rider numbers, illegal trail use and erosion becoming too much of an issue in the NPWS organisation. If riders can please show restraint and respect the 'no go' areas recently signposted here then future legal trail building may well be approved.
Alcohol Wipes for Disc Brakes
Hi there,
Have just started out with a GT avalanche 2.0 recently and been loving some of the trails around Sydney! Have had problems with my back brake recently which saw the caliper replaced. My local bike shop recommended wiping down the discs here and there with Alcohol wipes.
I have two questions:
1: Does anyone do this and is it worth it?
2: Are the wipes I found on ebay below suitable?
Total cost would be $28 including postage, seems OK to me?

NSWMTB State Xc #1 Lidsdale

I had ordered one from Cell Bikes but after 2 weeks of waiting they called to say their stockist does not have the MTB ones. I will put it onto an old hardtail with caliper brakes.
Scott Genius RC 20 Carbon Frame
For sale is a Scott Genius RC 20 Carbon dual-suspension frame and recently purchased carbon oversized seatpost. This frame is in great condition and has been well-maintained & serviced. The Scott RC 90mm rear shock has been recently serviced by the distributor and can be adjusted between full travel, traction control and lockout using a shifter on the handlebars.
This frame is very fast, very light and suited to XC riding. Size is small (51cm top tube) and suited to someone under 165cm.
Reason for selling is that it is too small for me (I'm 173cm)!

Cervelo Soloist (Alloy) with Dura Ace equipment and Mavic Ksyrium wheels
Hi, I am selling a 54cm Cervelo Soloist with a black ALLOY frame, Dura Ace equipment and Mavic Ksyrium wheels. The bike is in perfect condition and was very recently serviced etc. The frame alone is $1,600 at KOM and the wheels are around $1,400. I am asking $2,500 but am open to realistic offers.
