EOI: Fling Training - This Sunday - Wingello

Wondering if people would be keen to do some Fling Training down at Wingello on Sunday.

I have plans to do 3 laps around Wingello of the Red Loop to get some decent training in, pace will be quickish as it is a training ride. Don't want to come across as a dick, but yeah I am heading down for some solid training before the Fling and the pace will reflect this to a certain extent.

8.30am start I am thinking...anyone keen?

Team Member wanted for SRAM singletrack mind series Male 3's @ Lidsdale

Hi All,

Andy and I are looking for a third man for the upcoming SRAM mind series enduro at Lidsdale.

We're not taking it too seriously, hopefully finish within top ten but doesn't matter if we don't. Main aim for the day is to have fun, have a laugh and join other like minded people enjoying some good singletrack.

More details on the race can be found here:- http://www.chocolatefoot.com.au/singletrack-mind...

Pete.

Awaba State Forest update for 09 Oct

Status:
Amber/Some Issues

All the higher areas are well drained and holding up well.

Some lower areas have a few puddles and are a little sloshy.

the newish sections on the red loop were actually really dry. That new super fast downhill with berm at the bottom is fantastic - so much speed.

Strangely salad bowl was damp but not really wet. The Shute is very slippery and riders need to take caution at the bottom as it is very slippery turning onto the bridge.

Ourimbah State Forest update for 09 Oct

Status:
Amber/Some Issues

All the higher sections, including downhill are fine.

Lower fire roads and lower forests are extremely wet - I would rate this area red - I had to double back as this area was so wet.

Haven't been to Ourimbah for almost 1 year. The downhill track has had heaps of work, and is an awesome all mountain ride if you take it easy through the rock gardens. If the super d race at Ourimbah uses the downhill course it will be a fun ride.

Roller coaster is much more rutted from what I previously remember. Just makes it a fast more technical ride. Climb back up through browns and unto trailhead is a lot more technical given slot of soil washed away around tree roots etc.

Great Northern Road update for 09 Oct

Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Had a blast down to where they have the halfway stop in the Dirtworks. The trail was heavy with lots of puddles but not too bad. Worth a ride but you'll come back pretty muddy. Washed the bike, pulled bottom bracket out. Not a damaging ride like the infamous wet ride earlier in the year when we all ran out of pads.

Yellomundee Regional Park update for 09 Oct

Status:
Green/Open

Yellomundee is drying out well after rain on Saturday 8 Oct. Track is firm.

The exit from the Trotting Track bridge (south bank of Shaws Creek) is blocked by the stump of a fallen tree. The WSMTB track maintenance to be held 8.30am Sat 15 Oct will clear it up. Until then it would be best to avoid the entire track section north of Shaws Creek (ie as you approach Shaws Ck, just take the left deviation straight around the Trotting Track.)

UST Tyres on Standard Rims

Another one of my novice questions. Can I run a UST tyre on a standard mountain bike rim without changing anything on the rim/wheel?
