Manly Dam Wet Weather Reminder
A gentle reminder from the Manly Dam Rangers:
We are not officially closing the bike trail after rain this time however this email is a quick reminder for riders to keep of the Manly Dam bike trail for a least a few days after rain. The amount of rain we've received today and during the week is significant enough to result in the track becoming water logged in places.
The track dries out quickly and the amount of trail damage is dramatically reduced if riders stick to this wet weather 'rule'.
Thanks for your cooperation.

Hornsby Unstructured Recreation Plan Passed
Very good news in from HSMBA today, regarding a council meeting last night:
For those who could not attend, the Unstructured Recreation Plan was PASSED but more specifically the NEED for a Mountain Bike track will be addressed as it was the only activity which received public comment (thanks to you guys!)
We are not sure where it goes from here, however we will get in touch with council to see what needs to be done. It's still very early days and we have a long road ahead of us before we put shovel to dirt.
Remember to check the website www.hsmba.info for news and updates!
What this means is that the council voted to accept the recommendations made in the following document:
https://businesspapers.hornsby.councilsonline.co...
Page 56 on paper which is actually 67 in the PDF.
Looks very promising to me - many thanks to all involved in the HSMBA initiative (and I urge you all to visit their site and register your interest)!

Optibike
Some of you may be aware of these bikes but I thought id share anyway.
I was doing a job in Rose Bay today and the client had one of these. His was the OB1 model sporting talas 36's, rp23, chris king etc. Seems a little over specced with the 36's but would make an awesome commuter with some 2.8 slicks. He didnt offer me a ride though which is a shame cause the us 12k price is a little out of my budget. www.optibike.com

MTB'ing in Northern Vietnam [Season's Greetings]
Seasons greetings from Northern Vietnam!
We managed to fit in some MTB'ing while having some time off from a local Hanoi-based project ...and went to a rare and beautiful spot in Northern Vietnam....Mai Chau.
We drove for 3 hrs into the limestone country west of Hanoi and rented some local (Merida) hard tails to check out the local amazing scenery and village life....
