27.5 rear wheel

I have a giant trance sx that I use for all mountain riding. Back wheel has gone a bit egg shaped after a few medium sized drops. I am clueless / uninterested in gear specs. Basically I want a good solid wheel that can handle some abuse and is reasonably priced. Any suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks

The Convict 100 is an ‘institution’ in Australia mountain biking! As one of the first marathon events established in Australia, it consistently inspires all entrants to push their personal boundaries. The 2015 event will be the 11th installment of the “Century of Dirt” with a course change to the 100km and all new 68km and 44km course options.

Convict training

Hi Guys,

Some may skoff at this post as I may be leaving it a bit late but I was wondering as I'm new to XC races, I signed up for the Convict 100km a few months ago and due to the rain on the weekends and a new baby, training has been slightly limiting, done about ten, 40-65km rides in the last 3 months.
Question is what is the minimum single training ride (km/hours)one should do to make the Convict enjoyable.. not looking to compete with the best, just to complete the ride without wishing I was elsewhere..

MTBA / CA Insurance - What exactly are we covered for ?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

After some recent bad luck with injuries to some of the SXC Racing boys, and hearing Craig's (Fatboy) delimna's at the recent Willo, i thought I would do a bit of research into what the MTBA / CA Insurance actually covers us for.

I am glad I did, and the short answer is not much - but I thought i would share the basics of the policy

http://cycling.org.au/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=...

There are other components that can be found in the PDS but I thought I would call out these couple of key items that are relevant to most of us.

What a great weekend . We only had one team to beat , that being our sister team of Cadence & Co Black.
After our first 4 laps there was only a second separating us . We were lucky to get through the next 4 with a carbon rim pulling spokes and showing severe signs of stress . This left 3 Leftys and only 2 front wheels . I couldn't help being on a Superfly. .The boys managed to change between the laps for the next 14 hrs.

Giant (Otway) Odyssey 2015 - late review, great race...

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

A week late, but a great race....

This is a proper marathon MTB race.
My race calendar each year takes shape around 4 key races. These are races that I consider to be the ‘Classics’. Monuments in Australia Marathon MTB.
The Giant Odyssey is the first of the year (for information, the others are the Convict, the Flight Center Epic (Qnld), and the Highland Fling). So heading down to Victoria is always something I look forward to.
