St Ives Showgrounds, Mini Bike track
Elbows out racing is coming to St Ives Mini Bike Track. Racing is short (20 - 30 minutes per race), Fun with berms, bumps and singletrack and painful. 3 races per category on the day (Novice only 2).
We have the coffee van and Mexican food vans on hand to keep the pace high all day. Novice category (non MTBA licence holders) only pay $10 dollars entry and $20 day license.
Aim of event is to make XC fun, sociable and approachable to those looking to "dip a toe" into the race scene without crashing for a 50 or 100km event ( look at Brownie Points Burner is you want that one).
The Oaks (if it is dry)
Glenbrook station carpark. 8am at this meeting point
Hi guys, I have never ridden this before and simply want to go and have a look, get from point A to point B and enjoy the morning. I alreasy have 3 others coming with me, 2 of them I know, but the more the mrrier. I guess the only hurdle here is weather based on what has happened over the last 48 hours or so. email me at [email protected] if there's anything you want to say, add or know.
Cheers.

Softtail HELP!! Specialized Vs Scott Vs Giant?!?
Hey guys,
I'm looking at a cross country, dual suspension for under $2500. Almost half my riding will be ON-ROAD.
I will be using it for moderate/difficult fire trails and UP/DOWN bush tracks (no huge drops, no extreme downhill). My main concerns are LIGHTWEIGHT (14kg max) and at least front SUSPENSION LOCK.
Currently considering (all around $2000):
1/ Scott Aspect FX 15 (front & back lock suspension, 13.9kg)
2/ Specialised FSR-XC Comp (highly reccomended by a friend).
3/ Giant Anthem 2 <--- The talk of the town (fantastic front fork, excellent value, propedal)
anyone for a beginners ride this saturday 24 nov anywhere anytime???
Hi guys, I have just splurged on a new Reign (giant) mountain bike and have not yet had a chance to test it out due to work commitment but at last have some time off, so was wondering if anybody is up for a ride saturday 24/11, anyway if anybody is keen let me know as would prefer to have some other people to ride with, thanks.
Manly Dam Novice
On Saturday morning I'll be taking a novice mate round the Dam. He's been there before, but because this isn't likely to be very speedy and he's pretty new at this I'm throwing it out there for others to join.
If you've been lurking here wanting to say hello but have been a bit put off by all the high speed, long distance action then be put off no more - this is for you!

An easy firetrail that would make an ideal introduction to MTB for beginners. A quiet ride and great views over Pittwater are your reward.
