Manly Dam more trail clearing
We've received more advice from Warringah Council regarding further fire trail work by RFS/SCS on the Allambie side of the Dam. The section of trail between Monserra Rd and Nyrang Rd is actually a fire trail and forms part of the protection zone for homes in Southern Cross Way. It's not the same classification as the Curl Curl Ck fire trail so wont get quite the same treatment. Work will include brush trimming to allow vehicle access and may also include some earthworks. Weather permitting the work should be oompleted by mid November.
Crown Lands - Cromer North Trail
Don't know if I'm way behind the times here...
Dept of Trade & Investment are undertaking major works of the fire trails from the Cromer Connector through Garden of Gullies & what looks like main trail heading from Red Hill east past the Maybrook turn off.
Works to start in 4-6 weeks and will take up 1 month, the main trails will be off limits.
By the sounds of it they are trying to open the land to passive recreation with more policing of the trails to discourage moto's

Lawson.
Looks like I am paying a visit out at Lawson tomorrow arvo and would like to check out the Lawson's Ridge trails.
Any one got some tips and directions for this neck of the woods?
Planning to start at Queens road and hit straight out to the north and follow the fire road.
Cheers

andersons and oaks ride to beat the winter blues!
Keen to do the The Oaks so we meet at Glenbrook.
The pace will be "medium social" - This will mean several short stops will happen at the creeks, KOMs and the helipad, though besides that I want us to be able to move along at a body warming pace, so it'd be preferable to ride with people with a established degree of fitness.
