A bit slower than last year
Had a fair start to the race and the hills were a welcome opportunity to get the blood thawed out and flowing. Unfortunately when it can time for the fast stuff I had lost the lead group of riders in my category and so had to ride on my lonesome for the final 15k. Then had a stack 1 k from the finish line. Overall a couple of mins slower than last year. I know I know keeping my bike upright might help. Other than that had a great time. It's good to do a different kind of race with a more casual feel to it.
Great ride!
Wow what a great race! Felt really good for the first 50 and pretty much the whole race really. Passed Groover just after the river crossing and I didn't envy his his upcoming hill climb with only 3 gears to choose from. Kudos for sticking it out. The race plan went pretty much perfectly with nutrition working smoothly and no cramps or mechanicals. That's the good news the bad news is I really have no excuses for not going around in under 5 hours. So close but oh so far. I only went 7 mins faster than last year when I felt completely crap - funny how the body works sometimes.
What fun!!!
What a great ride! It felt like one of those nights out when you feel completely sober so decide to have a vodka and your completely drunk with nothing really in between.
What a ride
That was so much fun, although my bodoy's feeling it today. Those single tracks felt like riding a roller coaster. It was a great pick me up to see Steve01 at around the 70 km and swap stories about whose body was in the most pain. Cramping legs made that last 20k pretty difficult. 6 hr and 7 min - I'm pretty stoked.

Breakdown
Having a great time on my 1st 100km race until about 60 km in when a rock flew into my front 2 chain rings an bent them to such an extent the chain would no longer go round. I tried, rather aimlessly, to fix this but it was obvious my race was over. My only consolation was I had done enough for a 50 km time check. Around 2:31 so I was pretty happy with how I was going. Oh well there's always next - I'm a sucker for punishment!!!

Great ride
Wow what a ride. I'm just glad we made it back before dark. Thanks to everyone that came along, that was definitely the toughest day of mountain biking I've ever had . I'm not sure what felt more punished at the end of the ride - my bike after 100 km of chain suck or my body.

A great ride
Thanks to all for a great ride and the legs are feeling it tonight. Just remember that every bit of pain we feel now is a little less we have to feel on the Dirtworks. I kept myself that as I continuously watched Steve and others disappear out of sight. Cheers Lincoln
