First timer - father and son

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

First time doing this race and had a blast. Was hoping to crack 50 minutes and happily did...by 13 Secs!!! Just. Might run it next year, but it's 1 year away and will probably change my mind.
Very proud of my 12 yr old son, though, normally struggles up a few hills, but killed it and did a great time of 1hr 05min!! Hope he keeps it up.
Was good to see others I"ve met through other meets and hope to meet more of you.
Catch ya's round

The reason to do it again next year !

That was my first CareFlight race and I am pretty happy with my result. I guess I would probably have done <50min if my front wheel have'nt touch the rear wheel of the guy ahead me in the first down hill Sad I know that's pretty sad after only 5 min...
Anyway thanks again for the buddy who stopped his race for helping me.

Pushed hard and it was still a heap of fun the whole way.

Had a great ride yesterday and did way better than I expected. Spent most of the first part riding with an ADF guy and eventually 1 other pulled in with us. Just before the Helipad Gavin and another bloke caught up and the 5 of us trained it till the end. I wen't out front on the last bit of bennetts and cooked, dropped off the pack by 20m and didn't get them back till the last decents as the pack was all over the shop on those last few turns.
It was good to meet up with so many people at the end that I have met over the last 12 months through BMORC, Dirty Tri's and other events.

Wow, what a day. From scraping the ice of the bikes before the first lap to chasing a top 10 finish right till the last second.

Big ups to all of the event crew for putting on such an amazing race, Even for amateurs like us having the timing system with live updates really gave us the feeling of a being in a professional race team (without all the free stuff and personal masseuse of course).

Foggy Morning Intro Ride

Hi guys

I am an absolute novice to Mountain Biking - I just bought a bike and hopped on this morning at the Foggy Morning run (Quarry Rd). I didn't register but just turned up this morning, but obviously missed anyone riding? I know the trail pretty well from my running days, but the hills seemed a bit steeper on a bike, especially the uphills! I bought a Calnago Cx60 dual suspension - it managed to stay upright, but couldn't quite make it up every hill. Must've been the gears!

Must say I was happy to go under the 60 minute mark considering I rode the same way I like to ride every other ride. Cruising!!!!! With weather like we had today it would have ruined the day if I rode any other way.

Well done to the guys that went out fast, hope you got the times you wanted.

What a great day - lots of the BMORC regulars there looking forward to a brisk morning outing.

Bit the bullet and decided to start in the outright class after fighting through a lot of traffic the year earlier. Left near the back of the field and started to pick off the occasional rider or two on the climbs - really happy with my last minute tyre selection - Big thanks to Simon at BikeMinded for looking after me.

Fun day

Puncture just as I was starting to feel good hammering down from the helipad. Changing the tube had me bamboozled for a while as the 2 I had were 26ers.

A really good day. See you next year!

Best result I've had!

Only wanted to go sub 60min as I have never done that before and didnt think I could do it standing on the start line.

Great day out Smiling
