i guess this is why some people tend towards DH, freeride, 4x etc...to reduce the role endurance plays in the race. i for one can't wait until super-d style racing becomes more popular in oz.
I know there was one held to raise money for a girl who injured herself a while back but it wasn't really that well publicized.
Are there many held in NSW? I'd love to give on a go!
Just to provide some context on this story. The 'race' was being put on by the local primary school and was in Botswana, a northerly neighbour to South Africa. Botswana has a population of about 1.5m or 25% the size of PNG with infrastructure and elite cyclists to match.
I don't think our English superstar is going to be troubling Cavendish! The Poms have won enough cycling recently - we can't let them get away with misinformation as well.
Sly (bitter that I have never won anything)
