Freshwater to Wiseman's Ferry

Before the ride I made a last minute seat swap, stole the Fizik Gobi from my mountain bike and put it on my roadie. Pretty soon I think I'll have one on all my bikes, made the ride really comfortable.

I set off from home at 5:30am, my main aims were to average over 25km/h and keep my average heart rate below 170. I'm not sure how accurate the heart rate monitor is, it says my maximum heart rate was 237 bpm Jawdropping!

The ride was great fun, I really enjoyed the decent from Pie in the Sky and also Galston Gorge. The worst bit of the ride was Peats Ridge Rd, after the fun of the Old Pacific this section was very boring and rough. Next time I think I will stay on the Old Pacific, and hopefully have some company.

my heart rate is still tracking at 100bpm 5 hours after the ride
hope it's the Rum and not the over exertion.

of a ride! I've done Galston gorge and Pie in the sky but not on the same ride. Crazy. Oh and well done.

I'm thinking about a ride to the gong, via the RNP and maybe also including Macquarie Pass

bug pretty bad Jay! Which is great for doing well in one. I also say there is nothing like a solo entry in a 24 to get you training like a demon.
Your training well and I'm sure you'll have a very satisfying 1st 24 solo

I went out yesterday for 175km with a friend who's seriously fast, I rode beside him on the M7/M4 for 150km for an average speed of 34kph then I struggled up the mountain to Woodford and went to bed.

The Scott in under a month-I'm nervous

Training is going great again now. I hit a flat patch a month ago, after doing 6 hours at pace with Tein at Ourimbah and then backing up for a hill fest the next day. Pulling out of the 8hr at Sparrow Hill was a great decision. My training the last two weeks has been awesome, finishing every ride feeling as though I could continue riding.

I'm nervous that everything will be sorted on time for the Scott. Been waiting two months for a pair of Oakley sunglasses, been told another two weeks, I'm hoping that leaves enough time to get prescription lenses made up for the night laps. Also have to get my 2nd bike built up.
